I'm not 100% on the font you are using, maybe try swapping your layers, maybe a more colourful background with black writing?

ikr! the font is so s**t! but i am so inept at photoshop i didn't know how to change it :') I'm currently going through a photoshop tutorial haha

When filming, why don't you take a quick self-shot of you (and/or other people related to said video) and just write the title on that, in a subtitle style over it with a nice font. Check out "Zoella" she has nice simple thumbnails.
