Thinking of good keywords/tags....

I sing and vlog stuff
Currently, YouTube's own keyword generator where it allows you to insert your YouTube URL is temporarily disabled. So conjuring up keywords after it is uploaded is out at the moment.

Does anyone know any good keyword generators that we can use?
I've found a couple but they were messed up and didn't look legit.

Also, any good tips for thinking of good keywords for tags?

Thanks!

I have the same problem too.. I can't think for a good tags anymore, even though i already read and watch anything about tags.. Maybe there's something i missed..

I also noticed you don't need to put that many tags. I think less than 10 is good but more than 7. So 7-8 tags. How many tags do you put?[DOUBLEPOST=1377172986,1377172819][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'm guessing you're not using this?
adwords.google.com
tools>keyword tool
I do, not as much as the YouTube keyword generator. I use YouTube because it produces different results from Google, but Google's still good :)

It's around 8-10 tags, and i always made it relevant to the video.. But sometimes, the tags that relevant to the video aren't the good tags, so i don't really make any views from that..

Do you ever check traffic sources and see where most of your viewers come from? It helps. For me, most of my highest views come from Direct Traffic and Unknown sources. That helps (!)
But I think I posted my link to my videos to places here and there.

Yeah, most of it are from outside of Youtube.. That's because i put my video at some forum and Facebook/Twitter.. Few are came from Youtube search..

You really should put as many tags as possible, but be sure they all centre around the same keyword (or 2-3 keywords, if you're going that route).
Since I made a post about this a few days ago, I'll just go ahead and quote myself:

Take a look at what that specific video is about. Like, really about. Think to yourself: "If I wanted to find information on this, what would I type into Google? What would I type in YouTube?" and base your tags around that.

Lets say I make a video about golden bananas, in that case, my tags should look like this:
golden bananas, golden, bananas, yellow bananas, gold bananas, where to get golden bananas, how to get golden bananas, where to, how to, grow golden bananas, growing golden bananas, importing golden bananas,

And so forth. Focus on your keyword, not everything else.
Example of bad tags:
golden bananas, agriculture, canon 550d, vlog, youtube, educational, Danish, male vlogger, fruit,

Do you see the difference?
The first one is centred around your keyword ("Golden Bananas"), and variations of that. The second one is actually showing tags for, what could be, widely different videos.

If you run out of ideas, you can use a site like ubersuggest.org to get more ideas.

And always, always, use as many as you can. Tags is basically just telling YouTube "my video should be ranking for these terms", and there's no reason not to take full advantage of that.

I've got another advice where apparently there is such thing as "over-tagging". When does this apply? And what's the recommended number of tags? Should it be 10-12? I tried ubersuggest.org I'm not getting a good amount of tags...

Over-tagging?
It sounds like an idea sprung out from over-optimization, which can give a negative penalty on websites. Never heard of it on YouTube, or any other tagging platform for that matter. Now, obviously, you shouldn't repeat the same tags over and over again (aka: "golden bananas, golden banana, golds banana, banana golden, banana gold, gold, gold, gold, banana, banana, banana").

Making variations of the same tag, and making tags centred around the same keyword, is not the same thing as basically posting the same tag over and over again. Keep in mind that tags can be phrases, not just single words.

So, at least according to me, use as many tags as possible (or rather, use the full amount of allotted space you can, don't just focus on having >more< tags).

Out of curiosity, what did you put into ubersuggest? I've had pretty decent luck with it.
