The ultimate Reddit guide.

If you really wanted to cheat the system you could try these two methods:

blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/freebies-giveaways/579586-free-500-brand-new-reddit-accounts-june-22nd-23rd.html here is just under 1,000 reddit accounts.

hidemyass.com/proxy-list/ here's the largest proxy list in the whole world.

whatismyipaddress.com/using-proxies Here's how to connect to a proxy.

If you knew what you were doing I don't see why you couldn't give yourself 1,000 reddit up votes, since you'll have a new IP address every time. I would suggest doing it in private/incongnito mode, as Reddit puts cookies on your computer. That means every 10 or so upvotes just close the browser and reopen in incongnito/private mode and it should work as those cookies will be gone and you can continue.

I haven't tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work and with 1,000 reddit accounts you could get on the front page (potentially).
That doesn't work, as I've explained that will get your account blacklisted. Basically they ban your account without any way of you knowing, basically every post you upvote will also get an auto downvote, and every post you make will be considered spam. You can't do this since they du a 303 url redirect, and also because if more then 15 upvotes occur without naturally seeing it on the subreddit it will be considered spam upvotes.

You CANNOT cheat the system, please don't spread false information.

really informative guide man ill have to give reddit a shot but i can tell you now my videos are no where near revolutionizing lol

Thank you for making this guide! I understand a bit better how Reddit works now...

I would like to know, how can you put a link to your YouTube channel near your username on Reddit? I couldn't find any information on this!

There are a couple of other additional comments I'd like to make on Reddit.

First of all, be prepared for failure. You will see downvotes pop up without corresponding comments. This can be disheartening, but you must trundle forward. You will have negative comments, just like on YouTube.

And if a post gets voted to oblivion, you can probably get away with deleting it, waiting a few hours and trying it again. I wouldn't do this too many times with the same video because they're not stupid and will flag you at some point, but part of the trick to Reddit is getting those first 10 upvotes from the right people. If the first 10 people who see it downvote it because they're assholes, it may never get the upvotes it needs despite being a great video.

Also, Redditors are norotious for checking your posting history. If there's even a hint that you're spamming, they will crucify you. So if you want to be posting to r/gaming r/funny/ r/videos or any other big subreddit, you'd damn well better get involved in posting other peoples cool content, memes, etc that you find.around the net, commenting on other posts, etc.. This gives you some legitimacy so that when you post your own video, they're less likely to try to tear our your entrails. It is no less a community than YouTube is.

You're using different IP addresses and different accounts, how are they supposed to know?

Not really a huge fan of blackhat stuff (though I do use it from time to time), and I'm sure Reddit does have methods in there to counter spam, but what you're saying there is just not true. Or rather, it doesn't even make sense. Read up on how proxies and proper blackhat stuff works. Not saying to use it. Not saying you can't get your account banned (of course you can!). But don't say "it doesn't work" and then post a bunch of wrong information to back up your point.

For instance, you could pretty easily build a bot in UBot Studio, that reloads with a new proxy each time, logs into the new account, browses to a different post, checks that out, browses to yours, stays there for a random interval of 15-90 seconds, and then upvotes it. Heck, with a bit of added coding savy, you could make 1-5% of the accounts downvote it, to seem natural.

I don't even use UBot for stuff like this (I use it to automate stuff that's tedious and boring to do by hand), and even I would know to build a bot that could do this. Heck, I could build it in less than an hour, most likely.

Because even if 20 random people did it, it would be considered spam. It's not where the upvote comes from, it's the fact that the post is getting upvoted directly, and not when someone randomly came across it.[DOUBLEPOST=1379118904,1379118774][/DOUBLEPOST]

You clearly didn't read what I wrote, Reddit doens't count upvotes if they come from any link to the thread. Meaning that if someone upvotes it through a link, or through anywhere but the subreddit page, it won't actually count. Believe it or not, that is how it works.

I've used Reddit for a very long time, and I've spent time to learn the algorythms. If you made 1000 different people with different IP adresses upvote your reddit post, reddit would automatically give it 1000 downvotes.

Please don't spread false information, when you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Please don't spread false information, when you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

No, you're the one not knowing what you're talking about.
First off, it's perfectly possible to cloak where you're coming from. That's how people used to do fake YouTube views, by routing it through and making it look like the views came from Facebook. In the same way, it's perfectly possible for someone to make Reddit think you found the post from something else than a direct link.
Second, it's also perfectly possible to make a bot that "finds" your post through something else than a direct link.

Again, please don't talk about how bots work, when YOU "clearly don't know what you're talking about".

Out of curiosity, how did you find this out (that Reddit doesn't count votes that come from a link to the post)? Does it say it anywhere? If not, how did you test it?

It's a bit more complicated but he is correct. Reddit obfuscates the actual upvote/downvote numbers so that spammers can't measure their effect on a particular thread. Phantom downvotes are a part of that algorythm. This has been well known for a while now, but much like the Google search algorythm, Reddit doesn't come out and tell us all exactly how it works.

I wasn't questioning whether it was real or not, just how the information got out :) Not a huge fan of Reddit, so didn't know whether it was "public" info, or whether it was research he had done himself :)
