Mother of Dragons...Wait...
While I am here, I'm going to do my best to encourage, and support as many of you as I can. Though my own goals are something I value, it shouldn't hinder me from helping others reach theirs. That being said, some of the things I'm going to say might come off sort of mean, though I don't mean any offence towards anyone specific.

Lately I've been encountering a vast number of people that keep saying it's hard to get known on YouTube, and make a name for yourself. Now, while it's true there is some difficultly in benchmark(ing) your place in the YouTube community, it really isn't all that much more different than standing in a public forum and shouting "Hey! Look at me!" While that does get you attention, it's either the attention you don't want, or attention that you do want, but won't last.

The biggest issue with most people that attempt to create something more out of their YouTube channel than leaving it as just a channel, don't know how to network, or market themselves. If you place yourself in the business aspect of YouTube, you need to start thinking of it as such. However, this doesn't mean that you suck all the fun out of it, or you become a "sell out" (boy does that word get thrown around a lot)

Actually, let me take a moment to clear something up about "selling out". A person who is a sell out, does something they don't believe in, support, or enjoy FOR profit. Notice I didn't say for money, but for profit! Anyway, back to the other thing I was talking about!

A key factor in making a channel grow is to brand it, take that brand, and advertising it to death! Haha, jk. Though seriously, you'll need to be innovative and make sure you stick with something you enjoy. Time is something you can't get back, so make the best of it, and make sure you spend it doing something you enjoy! :D

Ha networking and advertising is all da rage fo making you is famus!!

I agree with you, People need to realize its not just about getting your videos noticed. Its about having fun with the videos despite getting found or not.

If you really planned on getting big, its going to take 2-3 years. Not one youtuber out there got famous in a day. (Or even a year I dare say).

Its going to take time, So if you don't enjoy it at all. You are wasting your time. Very good point.
