The permanent channel URL thing is ruining my life

Hi everyone!!

It's been FOREVER since I was on yttalk...shame on me T_T

But anyway, due to unfortunate life circumstances I had to change my channel branding this summer...and part of that is changing the name of the channel to better reflect myself and my goals for it. But we all know that all over youtube "YOU MAY NOT CHANGE YOUR PERM CHANNEL URL" is posted like a law of God.

...Is there ANY way around this? Or will my channel url just be confusing forever??
 
Ughhh... I had the same problem on a older account, and I searched and searched and got the same results. I don't know if contacting them personally may work? Last resort I can think of. But I'm curious to hear if there is a way. ^^
 
I have also changed my name but people don't really care because there are tons of big youtubers with this probably like Kain Lawley as a prime example.
 
Nope, your channel will continue to have the same url for eternity, unfortuantely. You could just start up another one with the right name and all, but you'll lose all of your progress from your current channel. I think you can change the display name, though, of your channel.
 
I have the same problem!! I changed the name but URL stayed the same. The only problem now is that someone created a channel recently with a URL which is my new name, so if you put my name in the URL the others guy channel will pop up :( I was looking how to fix it but I couldn't find anything.
 
I have a similar problem! I have a meeting with a YouTuber partnership manager this Monday coming at the YouTube space in London so that's one of my questions I am asking - is it possible to change my URL - I'll let you know how it goes!
 
You have no idea how much i wish it wasn't permanent, i got lucky by the fact I could make a page on google plus, called ItsBecky and linked it to my youtube account so I have a decent name now, but my channel url name, is and always will be.......

honestly it's the most cringey thing, luckily it only seems to come up with numbers and stuff in the url, but it's always there haunting me if i want to try and change it, honestly the most embarrassing thing ever, if anyone ever finds out if its possible please let me know.
The downsides of starting this youtube channel when i was younger (sadly not as young as I should have been with a username like that ahahha)
