The 'I Got Partnered with RPM' Thread

You can legally terminate a contract if you good grounds for doing so, and if you are not happy with the service you are receiving you can terminate the contract.
Aaaaand by terminating a contract do you mean either telling them that I don't want to be in it anymore or do I have to connect others into it? But yes I am mostly worried about the risks of getting sued and things like that you know? Things that would ruin parts of my life etc.

Basically the contract you have with them ends, and you are no longer legally bound to that network.

So I've seen a good bit of "I got an email to be partnered by RPM, should I do it?" threads. I'd like to ask everyone to kinda keep this thread to the top of this board to possibility put an end to all the RPM thread spam.

Q: Should I partner with RPM?
A: As of lately RPM has changed their contracts, almost anyone can partner with RPM. RPM takes a 50/50 split of the revenue with a 2 year lock in. Surely you can partner with them but just beware that they aren't the greatest.

Q: Should I wait to partner with another network?
A: Since the contract has been changed to make RPM make more money, yes you should wait to partner with another network. RPM has changed contracts to benefit them more than their "employees".

All my answer are opinionated. If you choose RPM just know the repercussions of the new contract. Also if anyone wants to add more details, feel free to post.

I mean, which one of them is good everyone has a different opinion at the end of the day, your making money for essentially nothing what's the real issue ?
You're missing the point. They pulled an AwesomenessTV, and by that I mean they will partner just about anyone. When you're a small channel, you don't make much money to begin with. Put a network that cut's your pay in half, and you will be making even less. They are using you for money. It's a business scheme.

But yes, at the end of the day you are making money for essentially nothing, but who would you rather make money with: A network that has a 70+ % split, and has a larger requirement to partner, or a network that has a 50% split and partners just about everyone?

... So... What you mean is... If I want to keep making videos I'll either have to force myself out or stay with them and if I stop making videos the worst thing that can happen is that they kick me? Hmm... Well then I feel like I can actually sleep atleast, even if my youtube channel is of value to me. But it will be rather... ''Exciting'' to see how these events turn out in the end.

As we both said, there's no money there to be made, which is the big problem with this.

And dude, a partnership over YouTube, the ground that they could sue you on are non-existant. Unless you have infringed copyright or any major laws, what's the worst that can happen.

Basically yes, you do not need to delete your YouTube channel, and they won't sue you, because they can't unless you get out using illegal means, but if you have valid reasons then they shouldn't refuse it.

So this is what RPM sent back after I asked about the new contract....

Hopefully this will help people decide when it comes to partnering with them, but sadly I don't think it will help at all. So many people rush into partnerships (usually without reading the contract >.<) because they want the features.
