How so? If you are one of the first to upload then you aren't in a pool of thousands. More like a pool of hundreds or dozens. That means you still have the hype and the search ability.

How do you plan to be one of the first when media outlets and big YouTubers have pre-embargo code and 5-10 videos each going up before the game is released?

Not ironic at all. The GTA video gained 95% of it's views from Reddit and is on the topic of GTA5 not being appropriate for children, which turns out is a controversial topic on Reddit, a site filled with spoiled children.

Of course, you're going to get more views from a newly released game since people are going to be looking for that, but don't assume all of the views you get will stick around for more.
