The Dirty Truth

I like being a part of the LittleTube community where you can actually talk with your favourite YouTubers.

I'm ridiculously good looking. Uncomfortably so. People stop in the streets and just stare at me, all the time. But I'm always behind the camera. I need to exploit my insane handsomeness and turn it into 24/7/365 international slot machines. BAM. Why hadn't I thought of this before? I'm going to go to the bank right now and buy a Lear jet based on my looks, that's all they need to get the paperwork started. :)

Hello cats and kittens!

I was looking through my youtube feed and skimming some videos by youtubers I know when it hit me!

It's really easy to be successful on youtube if you 1) have an adorable tiny human 2) have an adorable tiny animal 3) are physically attractive and 4) have a little skill with a camera and/or editing software.

But where does that leave everyone else who lacks one or more of those attributes?!

I'm curious to hear the community's thoughts on this issue... because I like to ponder things like this and hear different opinions.

WHAT?! Aside from a tiny human, I have all of this. LOL! But seriously, I really think that people who earn a little bit of fame have some type of skill with video editing. That might be what puts me off in a video most of the time is because of the bad quality or the inclusion of unnecessary content, especially in a game. For example, if I were watching a Watch Dogs gameplay i'd expect there to be a transition from mission to mission since that's the important part of the game i'm coming to see. I wouldn't really want to see someone traveling from point A to B to get to that next mission. That's just my take on it.

I have literally none of those things... Which must explain why I get approximately ZERO exposure to YouTube... Oh well :')

well, if this is true, im screwed

- I don't have a tiny human
- I don't have a pet
- im not that hot/attractive
- my skills are not 100% (its getting there)

I think we're only answering half the question here if we don't first define what "success on YouTube" is. Are you succesful with 100,00 subscribers or 1,000,000 subscribers. Does it take 50 million views or 100 million. Maybe it's a combination of subscribers and views as in some kind of view/subscriber ratio.

I suspect you can only get the tiny little people if you're already a recognized YouTube celebrity otherwise, they might freak out and run away.
