That 'I want to give up' feeling.

I hope that I can be candid with you and tell you that if you are going to put yourself out for the internet to see, you need to prepare yourself for hate, dislikes and pervert stalkers. Nothing in life comes without a pinch and it makes it all the more interesting. With each dislike and hate, you grow stronger and more determined to bring out content in higher quality and credibility. Again as I always say, never let another person who does not have balls to put up a video on Youtube determine your worth as a person much less a content creator. They really are not worth your time and worries. Instead, concentrate on likes and supporters. Haters gonna hate..but the choice is up to you to use it against you or use it as a tool to improve and kick some serious a**. i would definitely choose a** kicking
I was prepared for it, I just didn't think it would come as early. I only just started Youtube about 6 weeks ago haha. You're very good with your words, it has uplifted my spirits :) I think I'll try and kick some a** haha thank you :)[DOUBLEPOST=1367181817,1367181739][/DOUBLEPOST]
Drink an energy drink and listen to fast upbeat music to get in the mood for a video, also tell your parents that its your choice and your hobby and that you're going to carry on so they might aswell give positive feedback :)
Ah yeah that would be a good idea, I tend to record in the mornings so I should maybe change the timing as well. Oh I'll try and get through to my parents, but I doubt they will listen :/[DOUBLEPOST=1367181934][/DOUBLEPOST]
Balancing life and youtube can be difficult! When you get that feeling slow down and take a breath of fresh air! Go for ahike or a walf go do somthing other than youtube! If youtube is the only thing in yournlife it will hurt when your not growing every second.. treat youtube like a hobby not a lifestyle
I have found it really difficult and have definitely been focusing more on Youtube than other things, but too stubborn to admit that Youtube has taken over my life these past few weeks. I shall take your advice on board :)

I had a comedy channel with my friend last year and got about 3000 views and my parents where really against it so we deleted it and my new channel is my secret hobby :)

"...they don't understand how depressed and lonely I was before starting Youtube."

Then just dont stop doing it :) Who knows, you might become the next big thing ^^
Haha it's nice to see you think that, but I've always been the pessimist, but I enjoy making them nonetheless :)[DOUBLEPOST=1367182034,1367181988][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hopefully one day I can say, hey mum I've got a million views, and she'd be like omfg WTF! And be happy I done it behind her back

I definetly think you are taking YouTube too seriously to be honest. I'm guilty of it myself at times, wanting to see the sub count go up and wondering why it doesnt after a couple of weeks or so. To be honest, I think my content is a lot better than a lot of other channels, and yes I know that is very arrogant and I dont like saying it but the fact is, I think we all feel like that a lot of the time. WHY THEM AND NOT ME?!?!?!?

But this isn't a job. This isn't life or death. This is a hobby. Pure and simple. We ain't curing cancer, and we ain't hurting anyone.

So, to hell with the haters, the mis-understanders, the "get-a-lifers", the "nasty commenters", the backstabbers and the French. Do what makes you happy. The only person who knows about my channel is my wife, and I think its important that you have someone who can support you, but if you're parents don't, try to keep them out of it. Don't record in front of them, and dont tlk to them about it. Eventually after a while they will stop bugging you on it and find something else to hate on, but you need that friend there to buck you up, cheer you on and get your a** in front of the camera when you really dont want to.

And for my final piece of advice, go and buy yourself something symbolic of what you are trying to do. I bought this mug.

You would not believe the amount of times this has cheered me up. I use it everytime I write a script.

Hope you stick with it, and keep your head up. Tomorrow is a new week, so go do a video that makes you smile :)

Honestly, my advice is to never give up. If you get such an enjoyment out of making videos then don't let others get in the way or ruining it for you. Quitting just makes you look vulnerable. Tell them straight up 'It's my hobby and that I like to do it.' Reason with them and make them understand and if they cannot then don't be persuaded by them to quit what you love. :)
