Taking a break

Courtney Candice

I Love YTtalk
I use to upload every Saturday but lately I have been uploading Every other week because my last few videos took a lot longer to edit and also I’m going through a lot Changes in my life right now with going back to school and a bunch of other things have been happening lately that’s causing me to stress out. I had a video all planned out to film today I even stayed up all night to finish the script, but I couldn’t bring myself to film it today which is really unusual because I’m usually able to film a video even when I don’t feel like it. I decided to go ahead and not film it because the way I’m feeling today. Technically I’m not really taking a break because I will be filming videos In the next couple of days, but I won’t start uploading again until next Saturday. It stresses me out even more knowing that on Wednesday it be two weeks since I uploaded, I just hope that it will be alright that I haven’t uploaded a video for two weeks:/

I think it puts a lot of pressure on you to have an upload schedule and may reduce your creativity. It should not become a chore. People will look forward to your next upload even more if they waited longer for you! :) You could also consider making a Courtney calendar which has 14 days in every 1 week lol.. then your on target as usuals and may start a trend that the rest of the wurld follows.. Making you even more famous!

Sometimes people need to take a break from what they are doing! You might need the break, and don´t feel bad for doing it either! It´s good to focus on school!
If you need to talk about life and such, we are here if you need us!

Yeah it is a lot pressure to have to film and edit a video a certain time and then I feel rushed when I end up having to film a video in the middle of the week and try to hurry up and edit before that day. Uploading every Saturday was never a problem until these past couple of months because I’ve been working on going back to school so I could work as a cosmetologist and a lot of other changes has been happening in my life lately, so I’ve been distracted by all that which caused me to have writers block

It fine to take break, nobody pressuring you to do so many videos at once anyway. It much better to favor quality over quantity. Get some fresh ideas and don't stress out on the upload schedule. Those loyal subscribers you have will stay to see your next videos no matter how long it take.

No no ones pressuring me but me, I’m the type that likes to work hard and never give up which is a good thing but also bad because I tend to over work I’m one of those overachievers. lol I think me staying up all night to finish writing script ended up wearing me out when it was time for me to film the video.

Yeah, I think I know what you mean. I've been going through really bad YouTube burn-out this year, myself. YouTube's algorithm is always challenging you to upload consistently, pump out content and keep you on the grind. And it's hard to balance work ethic and creativity. On top of that, if life is giving you personal problems, it bleeds into the content, and it becomes an all around icky situation. There was this meme of me someone in my community made and it was this image that had a picture of me throughout the years I've been making videos, and you can see it in my eyes, but I look so dead inside as my channel progresses. And it's sad, cause my channel's doing better than it did before, but burn-out's kicking in. Add to the fact YouTube isn't the golden era it used to be, and most people just don't have that fire in them anymore. I've seen so many small creators just up and stop uploading, and it's the most depressing thing in the world.

I think taking a break's the best thing you can do. Sort everything out and reevaluate what you want to do with the channel, maybe get some inspiration from your favorite creators and see what they're doing to avoid burnout. I remember when I was a little kid and had this cringey Roblox channel, walking around Disney world gave me a lot of inspiration for the scripts. Seeing how they set up ambiance with music and colors and props and created different scenes that so many people loved. Sometimes life'll hit you with those moments of inspiration, and you can't really experience it without taking a break. Sorry for this long rant. lol
