so lately i keep seeing this button popping up on random channels i end up on...anybody knows wassup? its not on all channels, just some.

It is a new function on YouTube (currently in beta) which allows you to tip youtubers through Google Wallet :) You can sign up for it, but it is only rolling out in a select few countries for starters (not in mine :( ) :)

"Why them and not meeee... *cry*"

That's what that reads like. Everyone will get the option of getting that button down the line I am sure. Naturally they beta-test it on people that could actually get some people to tip them some money.
i dont think everyone will get that option, probably only the top users, and IMO i doesnt read like that

It is called the YouTube Tip Jar. Right now it is only avalible to content creators, US, Mexico, Japan and Australia and you can only donate if you live in those countries as well. It won't show up if you live in another country. You have to apply to have a tip jar on your channel, so you can't just have 10 subscribers and have a tip jar, but there are channels with less then 100,000 subs that have it. And fans can donate anywhere between $1 and $500. And I'm sure even if they eventually give everyone the option to have one, they could turn it off because some people wouldn't want that.

There are already threads on yttalk about it. Read more here:

how is it bitter that i think they are extremely overpaid?

They are paid what their views are worth. Your response is basically the definition of bitter. While I make peanuts with this whole YouTube thing, I applaud those who do well despite the odds. If someone likes a creator/video enough to drop a few dollars on them/it, more power to them.

i dont think everyone will get that option, probably only the top users

I imagine it won't only be the top users considering YouTube will get a cut either way. A few % of $5 dollars from someone with a million subs is the same amount as a few % from someone with 1,000 subs.

Sawyer Hartman doesn't make as much as you would think, he has over 1 million subscribers but only about 60 million views. Lets say he makes $2,000 per million views and he has been doing youtube for 3.5 years now, so that would only be roughly $35,000 a year. But he might now have even been making money off his video when he first started. Now I know he has some deleted and private videos, but those were all older before he got a lot of views so I doubt those made him a lot money. Also, he does a lot short films and being a video student I know those kind of things cost a lot of money to produce. Video equipment is expensive and I see nothing wrong with putting up a tip jar for him to get money to buy equipment to make better videos. I think that is what the tip jar is for. YouTube is marketing it as a tool for YouTubers to use the tip jar, and use the money make better content, however, I doubt that is what all them will do with the money.
