Sudden Dramatic Increase in Subscribers...Confused

Well, it's happening to me too. Not a huge jump but I'm gaining 2 subs consistently now.

I've made a thread about cleaning my tags few days ago and the next day, I gained 2 subs, the next I gained another 2 subs, and now, I gained another 2 subs.o.O

Did you figure anything out?

Well...not really. We have seen a percentile increase in overall views but its going back and forth. Sub growth has dropped considerably now, floating over 2200 subs. But...

We had a recent problem though...one of our videos went from 50 to 1050 in an instant, then YT killed the video. This looked like a view attack and looking at the stats it looks very suspicious with the majority of the view watch rates being less than 30 seconds. So I really have no idea. YT are useless on their support, I have read several threads and it is very difficult to get feedback from YT. I might raise a ticket with them to see what they think.

The Fan Finder does seem to be running however the stats are low. I really have no idea. If this is an attack, why? We are tiny, we hold no significance when it comes to YT share on gaming videos. I am really confused now...

With no real increase in activity like comments/likes/dislikes, I'd say it definitely sounds like a bot situation :-o

OK, a lot of people state the opinion of it being a bot but nobody has offered advice on how to A) Contact YT or B) What the hell can we do about it?

It's not like I can just ring YT and ask them to take a look. Please could someone advice in a bit more detail?

1) Are you partnered? 2) If so, does your channel have more than 75,000 culmulative watch hours over the past 90 days? If so you can contact youtube partner support (just google it and log in and you can email youtube about the issue). I'm afraid to be blunt, but if not then youtube doesn't really care because you aren't making (them) much money, so if the subs are real you'll see an increase in interaction such as likes and comments, and if not then the next time youtube decides to do a 'clean up' of subs like they did a few days ago they'll be removed. Other than that there really isnt any other way to fix it unless you want to create a new channel

Thanks, somebody actually offering solid advice.

We are partnered but not that big. We have 159 days watched minutes over the last 90 days :(. I thought that was the case, would they care enough to kill all the progressively hard work we have done for the last 1.5 years?

I do not want to create a new channel, we are trying to create a business from this channel, we are about to launch a website and soon (in about a year or so based on progression) we want to set up a limited company so starting a new channel is both counter-intuitive and in my mind a major step back.

We are just starting to get sponsors and we are about to do an advertising campaign at our local games businesses. This occurrence really has put a serious dower on us.

Just like you, I don't have all the answers. I regret ever replying to this thread, for my feeling have been damaged far more than your channel ever could!
