I can't bring bad ideas to life.
Well I am making this thread because I had 22 subs 1 and a half weeks ago and lost one of them around that time (1 and a half weeks ago)
I think I am getting quite a good amount of views on my videos but that's not the case.
I'm very curious on why I have stayed at 21 subs for like 2 weeks now even though I get quite a few views I would like to know what you guys think about this.
On a side note: I want to call my subscribers Crafty Ninjas like the way pewdiepie calls his subs bros :D I wonder how I should do that 100 sub special just throw it out and pretend like I have been doing it since day 1 ? Or announce that all my subscribers are known as Crafty Ninjas xD
I want thoughts on this :D!
I also didn't spend time checking this to make sure everything makes sense I just typed everything off the top of my head and didn't spend time at all making sure it sounds right so there may be a stupid mistake.

I had the same problem you had I got views but no subs what you need to do is go on social media sites I used twitter and simply ask them (politely) to come check out your channel or most recent video. At this small stage you kinda have to beg or throw yourself at people rather than just have them come to you. When your in the thousand sub range you won't need to do this as much but for now yea.
As for the name thing I think either make a video telling them that you want to call them Crafty Ninjas or you can let them pick their own name (This is what I did) it helps with audience engagement. Hope the advice helps :)

If it makes you feel any better, I only have 372 subs with over a million views....
 
Find people who do sub for subs, that also helps your channel get noticed, like what others mention other forms of social media helps too like twitter or facebook, you can even go on google+ join some youtube groups on there and ask people to check out your channel.

I don't think sub for sub is very good as its rather frowned upon since most people who offer won't watch your content leading to inactive subs which no one wants (Though we all have them) though using other networks and joining groups are good ways to grow
 
I think there's a difference between subscribers and fans. A subscriber may have a lot of reasons to subscribe, usually just wait for a follow back. Like in Twitter or elsewhere. Fans on the other hand just love your content and the only thing they expect from you is another good video.

How to get more of the latter? I guess it's all about original content. If what you offer is more of the same, something that can be found all around YouTube, I don't think many people will fall for it.
 
Just be patient and make good content. If you're getting the views, then subs will come. YouTube is generally a slow climb for most of us, so don't rush it.

As per "pet names" for your subs, personally I hate it. I find it patronizing.
