Subscribers private or public?

For all you guys saying if you don't show your sub count you have must have something to hide. You same guys have fun grinding thinking YouTube is some fair even playing field.

The hidden sub count method works plain and simple

When I come across a new channel I always go to the "Video" tab and scan their thumbnails. That's the thing that let's me know the professionalism and seriousness of a channel. If I like what I see, I will subscribe. The one thing that will stop me subbing, is secret sub count. I'll be like thinking, what are they hiding? Plus everyone can easily tell how many subs you have by the views - 10 views a video, you won't have 10k subs (unless the channel has been actively buying on fiverr).

I'm starting to believe that people will not subscribe to a small channel even if they like its content. Do you think not showing my subscribers would help? Or would it be even worse?
Keep it on Public, you don't want to give the people a feeling that you're hiding something :s

That is not true . What is true is that ppl will watch 1 video on your channel and never watch any of your other videos even if they subscribe. Subscribers are just a unreliable as those ppl who watch your videos and won't subscribe. While I appreciate the subs who come back to watch my new videos the inactive ones are just there to boost my channels appearance other than that they're useless to me. Quit worrying being honest with a bunch of ppl who you owe nothing to. You may as well go be honest with a brick wall

Seems like a majority theme here, but I agree that when it's hidden it feels like they're hiding something and it creates a disconnect by default. Keep it public, if people like your stuff they'll sub.
