Subs or Views?

It depends, if we're talking about real subs as in the ones that like you're content and the whole reason why the Subscribe button was made, then I'd choose them over views :D
But if we're talking about the sub4sub kind then screw them, I take the views :P

I like me some subs. If I got 1,000,000 views on a video, but hardly anyone subscribed or liked, I'd take that as me failing and the video was terrible. Subs aren't just for views; for me, it's the beginning of a fanbase.

Views are important no doubt, but without legitimate subs your channel won't really get anywhere, because the majority of your views are going to come from your fans, and if you have no fans, especially as a smaller channel you're not likely to get many views.

Personally I could care less about both. What really counts is activity for me. As long as I have a good amount of comments for every video I post to interact with a community I am happy.

Hey guys, not sure where to put this but...

Hey everyone! How's it going? I am new to the whole YouTube stuff and I wanted to share my channel with y'all. Thank you for your time.

Not entirely true. For most channels the majority of views are not coming subscribers or fans but from random people who never subscribed to your channel(my analytics isn't lying!).

Subscribers for me. YouTube send the buttons out when you hit a particular number of subscribers, not views. Also someone could watch you video for like 10 seconds and click off, to actually get someone to sub takes a lot of work.
