Subreddits for YouTube posts

I've gotten some success in the coin op and retro gaming areas but only because I posted something never seen by them. Had I just done a regular let's play it review it would have just passed thru Un noticed

That aside the music Reddits are much more fun and I just post there and talk about music anymore and given up mostly on getting my own vids on Reddit

I've done a few videos so far, but the ones that I've promoted on reddit have done significantly better. It's crazy. But /r/tf2 usually hates on my videos. It's kinda sad, cause if I post anything but a video, they do great.

I don't know how nobody has mentions r/LetsPlay. It's one of the best gaming video communities I've come across, everybody is so friendly. There's no self-promotion in this, but you can add your channel to your "flair", so every post is basically self-promotion anyway. :) I find if you join the conversation people are generally interested anyway. They do a Feedback Friday, What are you watching Wednesday and little things like that, that just make the place special. I've made a lot of friends on there.

Somebody mentioned r/letsplaycritique, which is also is a great community that I suggest. You can get roasted on there but if you can take it on the chin and use the criticism to improve it can be really helpful. If you're not ready for criticism, you're not ready for YouTube.

Just imagine it like a huge collection of forums. Each repository is it's own forum based on any topic, known as a sub-reddit. Anyone can start a sub-reddit.

The community can either upvote or downvoted content. If a post gets a lot of upvotes early on, it gets floated to the top.

So go searching for sub-reddits of your interests and you're bound to find out something new and find others looking for the same thing.
