STOP Being Melodramatic... [Serious]

The thing is that most of the new users want to become famous in 10 videos, come on they aren't even making an effort!... I also think that nobody thinks about how epic is to have 40 suscribers, i mean, imagine 40 people in a room, all saying that your work is good... THAT'S AMAZING.

I'm not saying that i don't want more suscribers or views... I have 381 subs, and for me that's amazing, i would love to have more! but blaming youtube doesn't help, you have to put some effort and make good stuff.

Half the threads are about how YouTube is dying, falling apart, ruined, how much it sucks, etc. Seriously, cut the crap. YouTube isn't going anywhere, but if you can't adapt to minor changes then YOU'RE the one that is going to give up and blame YouTube for your failure.

"Google Ruined YouTube": No it didn't, it made YouTube the the second largest search engine in the world behind Google itself. YouTube was bought by Google way before most of you even made videos. A billion unique visitors a month? 1/7th of the world population visits YouTube every month and you say it's ruined?

"This Change will Ruin YouTube": No it won't, it just means you have to adjust how you do a few things. Do you know what happens to businesses that don't adapt? They fail and blame everyone but themselves.

"YouTube doesn't care about small channels": Maybe it's because 99% of small channels really aren't doing anything different than everyone else and blame YouTube when no one watches their videos instead of the big channels that make unique, higher quality, and more interesting videos. If you were making unique, high quality, and very interesting videos, you wouldn't be a small channel - that I can guarantee. Be the 1%, I know you know how.

Thank you, I love you. Don't 100% agree with the second to last sentence but: thank you, I love you.

They already have a similar program in place called On The Rise, but you or your fans submit your channel instead of just a single video. Channels over 100k subscribers are not eligible. After the submission process, they announce the finalists and voting determines the winner each month. The winner gets a feature and press on youtube's social media pages.
This + the occasional YouTube NextUp.

Preachhh[DOUBLEPOST=1386975897,1386974864][/DOUBLEPOST]I feel like so many of you blame YouTube for your channels' lack of growth.
"YouTube only cares about the big channels who aren't even that good anyway!"

Well I believe 100% that if you put out original, clever, and unique content, you will grow independently.
I am not trying to be cocky, but I started vlogging on Sep 22 2013 and already have 360 subscribers. Im not saying my content is AMAZING and THE BEST EVER but i practice what i preach. By using social media and making quality videos, my channel grows fast. Maybe I am just lucky but I find it immature to blame youtube for your problems.

Make good videos. Use social media. Stay on schedule. Be original.

Great advice if this was true for everyone. A person's success and growth rate have to many factors. You're ignoring the fact that some niches have a difficult time growing.

Quality videos are so overrated. I'm subscribed to Mkohl40 and his videos have God AWFUL quality. Do you know how many subscribers that he has? He has nearly 40,000 subscribers with terrible video quality. https://www.youtube.com/user/mkohl40/about

Originality is also overrated. There are many Let's Plays of the same game. The MEGA gaming channels who review the same games will get large amount of views.

People watch what they find entertaining regardless of the video quality, originality, schedule, and social media.

The rich get richer on youtube. Youtube is like college, it's all about who you know, not necessarily what you are doing.

First of all, successful people are successful for a reason, but it's not because they just have connections. Unsuccessful people seem to think that success comes from three different things: Luck, knowing someone, or cheating the system. You're completely wrong and I'm honestly going to just call you out on that BS even if you don't realize it. Hard work, improvement, and uniqueness are the best chances for success on YouTube.

Also, it's not like successful people are trying to "keep the little guy down". It's hard to see if you've never been in that position, but big channels love seeing small guys who are awesome and get bigger. If I see someone that is truly a freakin' star, absolutely outstanding, I have no problem saying "hey let me help you out with that". Do you really think YouTube doesn't want new YouTube superstars?

Finally, I'm not sure if you're joking but either way, there are definitely people who fall into this belief.

You ain't gotta turn up this aint no f***** show.

Honestly...I'm just like..meh. Youtube is big and it's changing and there's literally nothing we can do about it. Since all of the changes, there hasn't been a day that I haven't been on Youtube. I still don't like the comment section...but I like that it notifies you when someone gives you a thumbs up. I don't use Google plus at all......and I don't think we should have been forced to use it if you want to comment on a video...but....that's it..it's done..and oh well. The changes will keep coming, but it will probably be many years before Youtube's downfall. One thing is for sure though.....you can only shove unwanted changes in people's faces before they really start to get p****d off. So they better be careful.

I kind of agree about the shoving changes at someone before they get p****d. I mean, take for example Facebook. Facebook changes their stuff allllll the time. And when they change profile layouts, timeline feeds, etc, people were all "OMG THIS IS AWFUL WHY IS FACEBOOK SO BAD OMG IM SO DONE" and then they grow on it and adapt to the changes. I feel YT is exactly the same in that sense. People will be pissy, but then they'll realize not much they can do about it and they'll just live with it.
