Speed up render?

I said old, not bad. I love the Phenom II series. I didn't tell that you should upgrade. You need a nvidia card since most 3D rendering/animation supports CUDA as far as I know. So that might help.

The thing is I need a better video card, and will also go from 6 GB RAM to 16 GB RAM or more. That will not only be helpful with video but also with audio work I do a lot. Btw why would I get an Nvidia card in comparison to a ATI card? I'm a happy user of the XFX Radeon cards, and have never had any problems with it.

Do you have DDR3 ram? do you have AM3+ socket? Because most 3D software support CUDA which is only found on Nvidia. It will help on rendering and preview.

Oh. :/ I suggest you upgrade to AM3+ that is compatible with 1866 DDR3 ram. That might make a difference since it's a lot faster than DDR2.
