Sony Vegas or After Effects For YouTube Poops?

Hello everyone, so recently I've started a new channel, and my main videos are Source Filmmaker Shorts and YouTube Poops.
I use After Effects for all my editing, but I see a lot of YTPoopers use Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere, so I was wondering what is different with Premiere or Vegas compared to After Effects?

If your edits require a lot of special effects, After Effects is the way to go, otherwise Premiere Pro.

It always confuses me I have used AE for years and Premier and Final Cut and Avid.. and the only people I ever hear using AE to edit with are youtubers. You never see that at a post house or studio. I mentioned it to one of the AE guys at my office and he just started laughing.

After Effects has a hint to what it does in its name - it's for adding "effects after" you've filmed the footage.

Adobe Premiere is the video editing software by Adobe not After Effects Premiere is got everything that is to do with video editing, After Effects is for adding effects to the footage so that you can then take the footage back into Premiere and finish editing.

I don't know, I've just always been aquired to After Effects, bit of a habit.
