sociopaths on YouTube

Yeah like Symph said, they have a mental illness. Like any mental illness there is no cure, only treatment and the ability to recognise it and work around it.

A Sociopath can range from simply 'very insensitive' (telling you to get over it if someone dies, for eg) to the dangerous (having no remorse over harming or killing animals or people).

But compared to the non sociopaths, the numbers are quite low. So don't let it worry you, she shouldn't really have said something like that to you!

All types of people use the internet--including Youtube. There are definitely some sociopaths out there that go onto Youtube and do strange things.

It's a fact of life, especially nowdays that technology and internet access is available to many people, that you may encounter sociopathic people who go to Youtube and cause trouble.

If you feel someone is a sociopath or simply bothering you, the best thing to do is to ignore or block them. Sociopaths have something innately wrong with them--mentally and emotionally. It's almost like a disability... but in a sociopath's case, they sometimes think it's normal and don't see anything wrong. That's why some sociopaths do crazy and bad things.

yeah it's.... scary when someone has no empathy. The friend I mentioned above once was telling me how annoyed she was with her friend for always talking about how her life has been ruined because she was raped. And she was like "it's her own damn fault for being in that situation in the first place, if you're gonna go to a party dressed like a skank don't cry when you get raped!!" And I was just like "do you have any idea how completely cold and evil you're being right now?" She was like "evil?? Isn't that just common sense?? Don't get drunk at a party dressed like a skank if you don't wanna get raped??"

It's so weird how this girl just... she can't empathize with others AT ALL. But at the same time somewhere deep down she sees the pain she causes and doesn't like this, so she's always messaging me going "I made this person upset, what happened?" And then explains what she did and wants to know why it hurt someone else... I can't imagine being a sociopath it'd be... horrible...[DOUBLEPOST=1373709790,1373709756][/DOUBLEPOST]
That is superbly insightful. I've only ever seen the term sociopath used on television or in literature and they're always painted as like serial killers and manipulative monsters but what you said about arrogance determining what you do with a lack of empathy is truly beautiful. I feel a lot more aware now Symph :3 I will definitely be less quick to define sociopaths with negative connotations from now on!

awwww that's awesome bunny :)

Yeah... I really understand because I can be like that too--harsh and cold. I see things in life to be a result of your own actions. So, I understand where your friend is coming from; but I am also able to empathize which is a grateful attribute of mine... I know that people can make mistakes and bad choices in life and sometimes people just end up with bad things happenening or they are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I almost empathize too much. LOL It's to the point I put other people's feelings above my own and get walked on alot but just... I dunno... I'm kinda "sociopathic" toward myself and nobody else LOL. Whatever pain I'm feeling I'm just like "get over it dumbass" Or I just... feel like I don't deserve to have anyone care or acknowledge it but everyone else I'm constantly giving all this attention when I should/could be doing things to help myself I'm like.. anti-sociopathic and I need help lol[DOUBLEPOST=1373711476,1373711353][/DOUBLEPOST]

oh and as far as you being that way, I KNOW you have lots of empathy I've seen it in you plenty. So if you're being too harsh or cold I can only imagine it's because said person has been putting this neediness on you too much. Some people act like they're distressed frequently for attention, and recognizing that that's what they're doing is not being a sociopath, it's just being sensible.

I don't see how it's a problem in the slighest......
Agreed. Because how are they hurting you in any way ? They are behind the camera not your next door neighbor. If they kill someone, that's their problem not mine. I could care less who they kill, as long as it isn't me, my friends, or my family.

I don't see the point with this. There are sociopaths everywhere! Not just Youtube, EVERYWHERE! So i don't think of "sociopaths on youtube" as a problem. As long it's not hurting me or my loved ones, i'm fine. Sociopaths should be put in a mental ward.

That was brilliant, well done sir/madam.

A brief definition of 'Sociopath' is like a person with extreme anti-social behaviour isn't it? They're like supposed to be superficially charming, manipulative, incapable of love. There are people like that out there in the real world so I guess there must be some on YouTube. I'm guessing your social worker means they're utilizing social media to manipulate/take other's for a ride? Which I guess is feasible too considering you'll always get people trying to do that on the internet from politicians & businessmen - cult leaders.

oh ok no reason for me to be scared though right?
