So Youtube is killing my videos...

Liking YTtalk
I know, overly dramatic title...

But here's the story. To achieve the best video quality possible, I bought a DSLR.
I rendered my video as a MOV in 1020p quality.
The raw footage, editing footage and final product all looked absolutely perfect.
Then I upload it to YouTube...and it's still grainy and not particularly great.
I'm really getting the impression that I'm doing something wrong. Or I just need to film with more light, but that shouldn't really be a problem.

Anyone else had this issue?

Have you made sure that the uploads reach 1020 after being uploaded? The little gear at the bottom, making sure it says it's set to HD?

Yeah. The poster above has a good point. When you first upload a video, it doesn't have a HD option. It doens't even 480p.

But this is the second post where someone records HD, exports as a .MOV and it turns out grainy. I've never had these issues with .MOV's. Did the actual file you uploaded look grainy in any media player or is it only in YouTube?

I know for me I had to mess around with some settings, my videos just weren't exporting right.

So did you fix it or did you somehow answer my question and I didn't understand it? :p
I got it fixed but I followed instructions I found on google and have no clue what I did. I'm basically just saying that it's possible to have your export settings set in such a way you don't export HD. But what I did to fix it? No clue :(
