So, I need to get a new mic.

Yeti hands down but you might consider other microphones .
AT2020 is a good choice and they cost the same . Also , AT2020 looks better imho.
Also when I was getting a new "budget" mic , people told me to don't get the snowball .
Indeed I got the Samson GO Mic and it's pretty good . The problem is my PC is way too loud ( I have 2 high overclocked GPU's and they make a lot of noise . ) but when I tried it with my laptop , the sound was amazing .

Why dont you just do what I do and use a singstar mic :) Haha nah but in all seriousness the yeti looks a lot better

I use the Yeti and it's really nice sound quality, just like the snowball it's also "plug and play" so you don't have to mess around with drivers.

If you do get it I suggest getting a longer cable so you can move it around a little more.

But, I do suggest if you're spending around £100 anyway that you get something like a RODE Podcaster mic, those around AMAZING and outgo the yeti by miles! I wish every day that I bought one of those instead.

I have the T-Bone SC 1100 Mic, its not a USB connection so you would require an audio interface for it, but the quality from it is incredible, as it is a Studio level quality microphone and it only cost me about £200 for the mic, stand, audio interface and all cables!

Only problem with those is the price of the "support" gear adds up fairly quickly

Yes, but to start you get just get a basic £5 stand and maybe a pop filter, then you can just buy the extras part by part :) and you don't have to buy "official RODE" gear :)

Unless you're a picky person with big pro studio that wants the best quality the difference between the Snowball and Yeti is little on YouTube, since they compress it anyway. That being said, the Yeti has more features, the AT2020 is a step up from both.

I myself use the Snowball.
