No I mean literally going outside to meet ups and events and handing people my YouTube channel on a business card :)

Plus my videos pretty much involve me interacting with people so I usually tell them about it as well

So really I should have said by word of mouth instead of advertising
 
I got it. Maybe is good idea to make a business card of my iPhone app and add youtube there... Thanks. I thought that posting my video to all sites is enough but it means almost nothing :-)

It's always a good idea to have something to hand out to people, 9 times out of 10 someone won't remember a YouTube channel or name but when they get home and they empty their pockets it will firstly remind them of what it was and secondly give them the details to access it.

I've just been looking up and finding meet ups and events that would be relevant to what I do so I can meet people who do the same thing and also introduce people to what I'm doing

Uhm, I just looked at the links on top of the page, and clicked on 'Music' (in your case maybe 'gaming' or 'funny', I don't know what your channel is about :)). I then saw links to subreddits and searched for my genre and uploaded it there, but I was very cautious with my title ("I tried to write a song").

By the way, I just looked at my thread and it got 3 votes up (5 up, 2 down) and no troll comments, so it just depends on what part of Reddit you're posting, I guess!


Edit: Anyhow, the up/downvotes change CONSTANTLY. Like every second I refresh it's different. Is this normal? But that also means posting on Reddit is kinda useless, cause my views coming from Reddit aren't really going up right now either.
 
Ok. i will try to do it throught bit.ly so i can monitor it and i will post feedback what happened...[DOUBLEPOST=1369223985,1369223771][/DOUBLEPOST]It says bit.ly is forbidden so how can you monitor views from reddit?
 
Youtube analytics? Check the stats of your channel/video and look at Traffic Sources, at least that's how I did it, maybe there are better ways.
