Sites to promote videos?

Would it help if you upload your videos to Metacafe, DailyMotion, Vimeo,... etc. and put a link to your Youtube channel?

Its not real money though, you understand how the YTtalk cash works? When you get $200 you can get VIP and put a video signature & post videos. $1 for every 60 character post and $2 for a new thread...

What about Vimeo? About reddit i have no idea how it works.. I posted one video there and nothing happened.

I thought that maybe you could get new viewers if you posted the video to all video hosting sites on the internet, and linked them back to your Youtube account. No idea if it works though.
I posted my video on Reddit and got 28 views from it (not much but it counts if you're new to YT) - but I'm too scared to read the replies to the thread, it's a site full of trolls so fjdkqlmf *hides head behind hands*.
 
Every I post a video on reddit it quickly gets down voted and ignored

I've had more success actually advertising my video in public, it's where I've gained pretty much all my subs so far
