Should I put extra tags in my video description?

Hi, recently, i've been noticing that a youtuber's videos are everywhere in the suggestion box as long as the videos are related to his. I got a little jealous and decided to look at his video tecniques. In his video descriptions and below his "thanks for watching" stuff, there were hundreds of tags that people might search (of course related to his video). Should I do the same? Does it rise my video ranking? Or do people hate those?

Thanks.

It used to make a difference back in November now it will do the exact the same as if you put those tags in the tags place (this will also make less clutter in the description)

YouTube actually advises against putting Tags in the description like that. Sure, you want keywords and whatnot in the actual description of the video, putting hundreds of tags like that can get you in trouble. Also, it's not just tags that determine how well your videos show up in suggested videos. Things like engagement, watch-time, and view count also help.

No, but you can get a community guildlines strike if you put in tags that have nothing to do with the video :p
Id never do that, also do you know if tags in the front (ex: i make a battlefield 3 video and put battlefield 3 for the first tag) would be matched with more attention by other videos?

You're actually not supposed to put additional tags in the description box. If someone flags your video for misleading text/spam, you could be in trouble.

From the Metadata section of the YouTube Creator Playbook:
Only add tags to the tag section of your metadata. Adding additional tags to the description of your video constitutes spam and may result in the removal of your video, demotion in search, or account termination.

The Creator Playbook says "Consider how you order your tags in terms of importance," which definitely suggests the order you enter your tags matter. It's under the Metadata section if you want to see for yourself.

Seriously guys, Google "YouTube Playbook," there's a lot of good info in there.
