Should I keep my old channel?

I assumed they got special treatment because of their size.
I think YT wants everyone to have the new URL. Who knows someday the old ones may stop working...
Personally I don't see a problem with you keeping the old channel...?

A lot of question here and not much action.

Stop procrastinating and get on with it :)

The reason why I wanted to wait 3 months is to give me time to learn and practice. I'm a bit of a perfectionists and if what I make is not like what I imagined it to be then I wouldn't put it out for people to see but I have to admit that I definitely haven't spend as much time on this as I could have.

The best thing with Youtube is to dive in and get producing. It's not just about making videos. You've got to experiment with thumbnails, uploading, descriptions, engaging with comments. If you're perfecting something to an audience of one (you), how do you know it will ever work?

Upload, delete, rejig, upload, fine-tune, upload. You will learn heaps more than trying to create the perfect first time up.
