Should all of my thumbnails look the same to keep consistency with branding?

I thought it would be boring if I did and not separate them from each other. I just wanted to see what you guys did.

Also, if it is a series would I make the backgrounds the same or is that not necessary? I thought not, but hey I could be wrong!
 
For us. We have two different ongoing series that have their own thumbnail style. Then our music and lyric videos are unique to themselves. I try to keep a common theme going throughout like the paint splats of alternative kinda look as well as types of fonts carrying over and so on so that they look different but you know they're related!

I checked it out! I like that you carried over the background theme for your series :) That's a good idea.

I currently have a new thumbnail "Style" for each one of our web-series.

Don't keep the same thumbnail for each episode, I would defiantly recommend you keep the same key features and colour scheme between episodes.

Its a bit hard to describe but when I get home I can link you a few channels that have great thumbnails :)

My thumbnails are pretty trash I think! I'll try to make them more consistent trash between series, though haha

The more you create the thumbnails, the better they become as you learn new things about the program you're using to create them. Same with videos :)
 
you can have a common theme but unless its a series or a playlist switch up the thumbnails as much as you want i think thumbnail branding is a bit overhyped and doesnt play a huge role in your channel success like many people claim.
 
Some of your other videos will show up on the sidebar. So keeping then similar communicates that if you click that it's more of you.
