Shared my video on Reddit, and so far I've only gotten dislikes.

Also you are automatically seen as a loser when you post your own videos. If your youtube name and reddit name are the same they're probably not even giving you a chance. Reddits full of...

...folks trying to protect their community from becoming spammed with self promotion...

oh cool, I'll try to look for it and try my luck with it.

Heh I just realized I wasn't too clear, the subreddit is Called "youtubers" so the address is /r/youtubers. just make sure when you are posting a link from the front page you type "youtubers" in on the subreddit section. (sorry if this is obvious, I know reddit can be confusing if you don't use it often). Anyway, good luck, hope it helps

wait... is it against the rules to share your video on there or something? So basically... the site... OHHHHHHHHH I GET IT NOW. If people share there own stuff it's clogged with crap videos, if people only share other people's it stays interesting. Still though, you shouldn't be a d**k to someone just for trying to get their name out there, but yeah ok I get it.

Yeah that's it. Most of them only downvote on reddit itself though. The rule is to post like 90% other content and ony 10% your own, but some redditors are more hardcore and don't want selfpromo at all. Also depends on the subreddit cause every one has it's own community. And Mods. What one subreddit finds tolerable might get you shadowbanned if you try it on another...

thanks for the info!

Crap, so I wanted to try out reddit and see if it's a good place to advertise content. I tried sharing my latest video, the one on my signature, and I've gotten two dislikes. Damn it! Makes me feel really bad, now I question myself (a lot). But anyways, just one warning, reddit's a huge place and lots of people might not like what you share, so yah! What are your thoughts about sharing on reddit? (Won't be sharing my videos anymore)
Lol don't feel bad.
Reddit is full of trolls. I almost never get a like from there :P

No, they don't like people posting their own videos, as I already explained in length...

YouTubers complain about Reddit all the time and in 99% of cases the reason for this is that they were just selfpromoting while not giving a crap about the Reddit community, which Redditors value pretty highly...
