Shared my video on Reddit, and so far I've only gotten dislikes.

Crap, so I wanted to try out reddit and see if it's a good place to advertise content. I tried sharing my latest video, the one on my signature, and I've gotten two dislikes. Damn it! Makes me feel really bad, now I question myself (a lot). But anyways, just one warning, reddit's a huge place and lots of people might not like what you share, so yah! What are your thoughts about sharing on reddit? (Won't be sharing my videos anymore)

Reddit is known as not a good place to post YouTube videos unless they are simply amazing. 2 dislikes isn't that bad though..

I had to find that out the hard way, argh. But yah maybe not as bad, but I'm not really used to getting dislikes. I really put some work on that video, and realize people don't like it just puts me down a bit. But hey! Now I know that reddit's a crap place to share, so at least I learned something new haha

Also you are automatically seen as a loser when you post your own videos. If your youtube name and reddit name are the same they're probably not even giving you a chance. Reddits full of... meanies LOL

Well dislikes don't always mean they didn't like the video. Some people hate self-promotion and so they will dislike videos without even watching them. Also some people dislike every video they watched just for the heck of it. Never let dislikes get to you. (& In the long run, they actually help out your videos, so they may think they are hurting you.. but they are actually helping you)

Well dislikes don't always mean they didn't like the video. Some people hate self-promotion and so they will dislike videos without even watching them. Also some people dislike every video they watched just for the heck of it. Never let dislikes get to you. (& In the long run, they actually help out your videos, so they may think they are hurting you.. but they are actually helping you)

Yah, you've got a point there. I'll just move on with my life haha I just checked my channel too, I gained two subscribers! Coincidence? (2 dislikes = 2 subscribers) I can live with that lol

There is a youtubers subreddit there I believe, its not very active BUT your video is likely to stay at least on the "new" page for quite some time because of that, which is good. Also, I think that people who browse that subreddit are... well.. youtubers.. and are more open to watching new content. I would give it a try. Posting in "videos" is basically pointless because there are like 5000 videos added every second, you will be lucky if anyone even watches it

It doesn't hurt to post your content there, but it's most likely not going to take off. Videos that end up going viral on reddit generally started their success somewhere else first.

I asked the UGA Harlem Shake guys about the reddit virality phenomenon when I interviewed them for my channel. They said their video had taken off on twitter before it hit the front page of reddit.
