This whole thread is about trying to do it without quitting the app. Plus I'd have to select the app for that to work and screenflow has no window until you either start a new recording or stop recording

You can still use Command-Q. Click it in your dock first. Or go to the Apple logo and Force Quit. It happens. Screenflow isn't perfect. There is no solution. I know. It's happened to me. Cut your losses.

you know if you right click on screen flow ( on your dock) it has your previous projects why not click on one of those just to get to that area of screen flow
