Rubbish videos doing better then yours?

I think it really just depends on what your doing such as like the difference between unboxing a new gaming system or like vintage items but the quality seems to be part of the issue but I think a main one is how they act in the video like uberhaxornova when he did his wii unboxing and xbox machinima unboxing the video was basically unedited BUT he acted idiotic but in a good way. Plus it doesn't even mean that the people watch the whole video like my Slender fortress video (kind of off of like unboxing stuff but still a example) it had about 384 views and the video was about 14 minutes and the average was about 6 minutes watched so even though the video may be non edited and quality may be bad it doesn't actually mean there fully watching it although i'm not fully sure how people find such videos though :p
 
Just stay with it! Don't give up. I've given up many times wondering why all the people get millions of subscribers and I don't? Why can't I do and they can... Well the truth is that everyone can do it. I learned that the hard way. This is my 3rd channel and I finally realized that it just takes time. You will get their one day. :)

I test the item, create a script of areas to cover, structure my video, create raw footage, then edit all the footage and create the video to upload. I'm really starting to wonder why I bother doing so much? Do viewers really just want to see complete raw unedited footage to make it seem more like its a standard home user etc?

I get a steady rate of daily views, and a steady rate of daily subscribers, I just can't understand how some others get so much more popular when it seems like they throw up random videos with no further work or structure to them at all.

I dunno. Maybe Im reading into this too much. Maybe I just need to take a break from it. I just don't feel like I'm getting anywhere with my channel any more.

My top 3 videos are just candid videos where a camera just happened to be there. The ones I have put effort into get way less views. Hopefully this changes now that I've found new motivation (GoPro Hero 3)!
 
I know dat feel bro... I put a lot of effort into my videos (maybe they're not the best but I try) and when I see these videos that take about 4 minutes to render and upload that get thousands of views I just wonder what i'm doing wrong :s Youtube is a strange, strange place...
 
blame the human race they search around youtube and see something that looks funny.! look at Charley bit my finger!! haha its not rubbish its just a style of doing things like Metallica and glitch mob each have there own flavor
 
I think part of my issue is lack of promotion. I still need to jump onto FaceBook and Twitter, never really used either of them!
 
Production quality doesn't get you views, promotion and SEO does. Quality is very important, of course, but it can only make people come back for more of your videos. If no one ever finds them in the first place they also can't come back for more, no matter how good your videos are...

Content is the most important thing, just think what people will want to watch.... People getting hurt seems popular (Epic fail videos), and funny stuff also gets a lot. I'm surprised more people haven't watched me get stun gunned on the tongue, I thought people would like that one!
