RIP Youtube...

Well, once the affiliate change comes in January, I'll have to start switching my content to games that are perfectly cool with being monetized on youtube. Ea games, blizzard games, mohjang games, are a few companies already perfectly cool with it that have public pages saying they give everyone permission. I'll also just have to get into contact with other game developers and attempt to get actual written permission.

If the trust algorithm works well, this should only be a minor set back, even for affiliate channels.

Get over it. Seriously. Use content that you have the rights to, and you wouldn't have these problems. It isn't rocket science. If you're using content you don't have the rights to, you shouldn't be surprised when it gets claimed/striked.

It's not that simple. Some gaming networks have legal licenses and business deals with some video game companies. Their members are allowed to earn money from Let's Plays, Tips and Tricks, Footage, etc. These partners aren't doing anything illegal. They don't own the content. They have the legal right to use it to earn money.

Do more research. Even companies that ALLOW gameplays, have been getting people copyright claims recently, and even AngryJoe, who does reviews, and who is protected under fair use, has over 60 copyright claims.

Youtube done goofed,

Youtube done goofed,
You don't know what fair use is...

i feel your pain, honestly, and it may seem a bit harsh, but youtube is trying not to become megaupload(gone), if you understand me, they are doing a lot to try and keep the site alive without breaking any laws....to be honest all this was in the terms of service that most people didnt read.

You are either trolling or the most foolish person alive. I read so many of your comments and have been holding back. 90% of your comments are flat out wrong or way off the mark.

Are you seriously comparing Youtube to Mega Uploads?

Mega Uploads = User downloading Battlefield 4(the actual game) to their modded xbox 360 hard drive. - $60 dollar loss to EA

Youtube = User watching SOMEONE ELSE play Battlefield 4 - Maybe $60 profit for EA from a potential customer.

Apparently you're not listening. The issue right now is twofold. Videos are currently being mass claimed by Video game companies who did not initiate copyright claims. These companies are surprised by it and trying to help others get those claims removed. Notable companies involved at the moment include Blizzard, Ubisoft, Capcom and Deep Silver. The rest of the claims are coming from companies who publish soundtrack content who are claiming your video game content which the game publisher gave permission to monetize and causing people problems. We have permission to use this content. Try to get that part through your head instead of arguing uneducated about the matter. And that doesn't even touch fair use, which doesn't require anyones permission.

Then in January when the affiliate mess starts, every affiliate gets to go back into Adsense Review limbo, which is not ContentID. That limbo is the good old whenever google feels like it, you get asked to prove whether you own the content in your video. Which often is difficult to prove when it's just your face on a webcam. At this point we're hoping that the trust part of the system works really well where proven channels avoid that review most of the time.

This is a huge issue worthy of discussion, not a derisive "get over it" attitude as though it's no big deal.

Yes... Angryjoe does REVIEWS, and im pretty sure CRITIQUE is under fair use.
I agree, but fair use doesn't protect anything, it's a defence in court until you're standing in front of a judge fair use doesn't do anything. It doesn't protect anything, it doesn't allow anything, it doesn't do anything.

YouTube has never been a big fan of relying on fair use, which is the reason why Angry Joe and the entire That Guy With The Glasses posse took their audiences to blip tv and their own sites in first place.

With that history in mind: Don't worry: Angry Joe should be among the last people to worry about. If YouTube completely disappeared over night he'd be among the few equipped well enough to just keep going.

The beginning of the end. First, google bought YouTube.. Then, google + invaded youtubes social aspect, and NOW, the WORST of all, the new "algorithm" some geek came up with over at youtube, and it is so bad, it detects FAN ART with no music, all originally drawn.

This new algorithm is dumb, and even big YouTubers like Ghostrobo, Tetraninja, Angryjoeshow ssohpkc, and DSPGaming are getting copyrighted out the a** for posting videos that are under fair use law, using commentary.

Not only gamers, but everyone will be affected by this.

The beginning of the end of YouTube. All gamers will soon quit if this keeps going.

Hell, im surprised a lot of my no commentary gameplays have not been copyrighted. Only time will tell. Also, how is HassanAlHajry doing after this madness? He posts tons of trailers and no commentaries...

f*****g pirates ****** it up for the innocent
