Replying comments.

Hey lovely people!

I wanna ask you something: should I reply to every comment (except trolls)? Does replying to every comments helpful or just plain annoying?

I'm afraid that I might annoy them because it kinda fills up their notification on YouTube. Love you guys, have a great day!

I do, makes it interactive and gives the sense you really exist beyond the video. But if you were receiving thousands a day, it might be a completely different issue! ;)
 
Reply to comments. If you reply to a semi-active subscriber, they might become a full-on active subscriber because you cared enough to reply to them when you could have to someone else, or not at all. It makes people feel better.
 
Personally I always reply to all of my comments. They took the minute or so out of their day to comment something so I always take the time to reply back. I guess depending on the amount of replies you're receiving would determine the amount of time you'd need to reply. Right now, I barely get a lot of comments so it's easier for me vs some huge channel with like 500k replies lol.
 
This is the way I see it.

Starting a new channel can be rough and building an audience is definitely a challenge regardless of what you do. If someone takes the time to watch my videos and then leave a comment I feel I owe it to them to reply. I may end up having a conversation or it may just be a quick reply acknowledging that I have seen and appreciate their comment.

As for a hateful comment, I haven't received any yet but I'd either ignore it or be overly polite to them, just to get on their nerves :P

I will reply to every comment until there becomes too many to reply to.
 
I do reply to all comments. I don't have a lot of them but the ones that do comment are consistent. They're supportive and it would be like ignoring them if I didn't.
 
Reply to all the comments! Even the trolls if you want to. Replying to the comments makes everything more personal and I know I enjoy getting a reply to a comment I posted! As for the trolls, you might make them feel silly for trolling if you're nice to them, just don't stoop to their level.
