I think it makes people wonder why you feel the need to hide your subscribers and are put off by it. To be honest it looks sketchy, I mean why should it be a secret?

All in all, it really doesn't make a blind bit of difference really and your views tell people just how popular your channel is anyway.

I say leave it open, it's just more honest that way.

I don't think there is any benefit to hiding your subscriber count. Folks who care about that kind of stuff would probably just assume you hid it because it is low.

This is a topic that gets brought up a lot on here, and you'll find the majority vote to keep your subscribers hidden. They'll say that if you hide your subscribers it appears to them that you are ashamed of how many subs you actually have, and see it as pathetic. I, on the other hand, tested this method out when I started this channel LyfeWithDragons, and hid the subscriber count for about two months, and it was amazing.

To me, hiding the subscriber count makes your channel feel like it's exclusive to a person who does subscribe, and shows you don't care what the numbers say. For you, it should test that people are joining you based on your content, not because they wanna just be part of a crowd. In the end, hidding the subscribers, or showing them, it's up to you. You ask if it plays a part in you getting subscribers or not, and it does, a little, not a whole lot.

Note: I'm now showing my subscriber count, and testing it for another two months then I'll most likely turn it back off. I'll continue testing it till I see which results I'm happy with.

Great! i am going to try this out and see how it goes. :)

I don't really know to hide my Subscriber count so how do i hide my number of subscribers i have?

Go to your actual YouTube settings, by clicking the gears next to Creator Studio, then click on Privacy, and it'll be right there.

You should also ask yourself: "Why would I hide it"?

If you don't want to show that your channel is small then hiding it won't change much because everyone still can see that your videos doesn't have much views.
This really. I caught myself checking how many subscribers someone has, just because im curious. Hiding it and still have low views seems weird.

I wouldn't turn it off due to the bad vibe it currently has in the YouTube community. It obviously depends on you. I to want grow. I enjoy what I do but I want the fruits of my labor to come sooner rather than later. I feel doing that will hinder me. I'm not against trying it out though. It's always good to experiment but will the amount of negativity towards it I don't bother. That and I don't really have a reason to.
