Just try to be creative with your videos and try to be unique, if you just go through games and do nothing unique you will likely not get far or will take ages to grow. That was basically what happened on our previous channel, but we are trying to be creative with our new gaming channel coming out soon so hopefully it will help
 
@SomeDudeGuy so, I went out with some friends tonight and had a few drinks, so now I'm not really interested in continuing our argument lol...

However, I did check out your channel. Holy s**t you have an incredible voice for casting. If this Youtube s**t doesn't work out, you should look into doing voice acting or something. People need to hear your voice. Good luck with your channel!

The Majority on youtube is mostly invaded by a community of Youtube Gamers, just look at The Videos & Channels Forum Thread on YT Talk, Gaming videos posted 22k.

But is it impossible to make it as a Gaming Youtuber? It is still possible since Games are what the majority viewers are looking for, especially more and more younger generation are popping up.

Different Youtube gamer caters to different target viewers. And because we start up late, our videos is even harder or should I say, would take longer to get as much attention from our target viewers. It takes time.

But if you want to do something entirely different, you can but it is even harder to create one good unique content and again... takes time.

Hey man, look, I'm sorry about the arguments from before. Last night I was struggling with getting some recordings done, I was looking at the agonizing crawl upwards of sub counts, seeing few views on videos. Then the idea of "gaming channels have it easy, they go from one sub to thousands in a week" while I'm over here like "OH YEAH ONLY TOOK ME FOUR MONTHS TO 90" and just wanted to pull my hair out. I started being really confrontational in a couple of threads, it was my frustrations bleeding into the chatter. My mistake, honest.

Thanks for the kind words, dude. Who knows if it'll ever happen. These here internets are a fickle mistress.
 
Actually the funny thing is, the MOST traffic I ever got on YouTube was post other stuff that I didn't make but was relevant. I actually have a video with 1.5 million views, two videos with over 150,000, and several in the 40-50,000 area on my personal channel.

What were those videos? Inflammatory news clips, a couple comedian bits, and a movie scene. I'd be willing to bet that the absolute FASTEST way to make a YouTube channel would be to do quick "reports" on hot button issues, so long as you're quick about it. Hell I'd put money down right now that anyone who did decently polished videos about GamerGate, ISIS, Eric Garner, and Bill Cosby would have an absolute mountain of subscribers right now.

Gaming? Nah, sorry. This is a way harder slog.
 
I definitely do not agree, however if you make purely entertainment videos like lets plays or even non gaming videos that have no actual chance to get searched for then it can be tough. Nowadays you honestly have to make videos based on what people actively search for
 
I agree. It's not easy. Fortunately, I do it for my Twitch viewers, so I don't care too much. After a while, I might be interested to grow externally.
 
It's two sided really. There is a HUGE audience for gaming so there is also a huge audience for gaming videos. However, like you said, everyone and their dog is doing gaming videos these days because it's so insanely easy to record gameplay. You don't need anything, no investment or equipment. Just a microphone headset which most gamers have laying around anyway (and some don't even bother recording voice).

Knowing that, the way to 'make' it is to stand out from the generic videos that everyone can make and put some effort into their production. High resolution video, good audio, good editing and putting some thought into the concept of recording beyond a basic 'watch me play and talk' goes a long way into standing out from the crowd.
 
The correct sentence is "It's A Lot Harder For Any YouTuber To 'Make' It!

People have turned to youtube to make a quick buck nowadays, and the "market" is flooded with new talent. It takes dumb luck, or major exposure to get anywhere if numbers are your concern. I couldn't care less. It's great I am growing towards that 1000 subscriber mark, but all I really care about is the interaction with like minded people and just produce content.
