Really hateful comment

I haven't seen the video this relates to, so theoretically the first part of the comment could have some truth to it, but the fact that he brings your looks into this (and in such a ridiculously overexaggerated way) discredits him completely.

I like to let the comments bother me sometimes, but then I end up thinking well at least I let this random person on the internet get some of that negative energy out of their system. Then I just move on and make another video.

Sounds like you hit a nerve somewhere with the video. I watched the video and imagine there might have been something that really hit home with this guy. Of course that is not your fault. His feelings get hurt to easily for him to be messing around on youtube anyway.

So i got my first hateful comment and at first i kinda just laughed and shrugged it off. But now it kinda feels s****y.. I was gonna make a new video today but now i feel kinda bummed out. I know i shouldn't let it get to me but i just can't help it. Advice anyone ?

This is what he said word for word.

"You're a terrible person, even if this is meant to be satire it's clearly stuff you actually have done and know something about. It's amazing to me how a persons awful personality can directly correlate to their horrendous physical appearance. Please die.."

I know he's probably just doing it cause he thinks he's funny but damn he went in pretty hard. Anyways what should I do and what helps you with hate comments?
Just ignore comments that aren't helpful criticism. That person clearly has nothing better to do and people will try anything to try put you down. It's like when you get dislikes on your videos for no reason. Don't let it get to you, have a laugh and forget about it :)

its a shame people feel the need to be nasty and hateful in the comment section but i would not give it a second thought if i was you, just carry on and have fun!

everyone says to just ignore them, but i'm more like you, i can't help but think about it. So far i've gotten nothing but amazing feedback which is great but i know i'm gonna have to be ready to deal with hate. My advice is every time you see a discouraging comment, remember how heavily it's outweighed by the good ones c:

In the Youtube community sometime or another we all encounter that piece of a comment that just makes you say "Wow" he/she surely does not care about my feelings when I read this. From the specific instance your explaining his comment really did not even have anything to do with your vid itself. If he crapped about specific aspects of your vid then you might want to reevaluate.

Some people are just haters so in many cases if one person is going hard on you and everybody else seemed pretty pleased nine times out of ten that person was a hater unless he/she is a complete Youtube professional which I doubt. For example I have got hateful comments in the past, and if there is no feedback about how I can get better or any detail about my personality or vid that tells me he/she is taking the comment seriously then I just dismiss.

However, in some cases comments may make one feel bad and it actually involves truthful feedback. In no shape or form do I think comments should be addressed harshly, but sometimes despite the negativity can also include some truth. Another example, is a Infamous Second Son vid I posted pre-release date titled to some extent of 'Infamous Second Review'. The correct title should have been 'preview' in my case and I got so many dislikes and negative comments, yet also a lot of supporters and subscribers for how I handled the comments section.

I hope this cheered you up the slightest bit and don't let anybody discourage you. Keep up the work.

if your gonna do youtube you have to understand that no matter how awesome the video. no matter how great you are at what you do there is always gonna be someone who wants to bring you down. i get a good amount of hateful comments. cant take it personally
