Real vs Fake Reactions

Outright fake but lively personality or real but completely monotone and emotionless?

I have to say fake but lively. The only thing is, I make scary gameplays and i naturally "manly screen" at most of the stuff that happens. It's more of a reaction that I have, I expect too much from the game which causes me to jump, but everything is real. I'm not sure if that counts as over the top.

For a guy with ADHD, I prefer to be quite real on my videos, I know how boring it was for some channels because they just go on their videos talking about stuff like nothing then smiling or laughing at random times and you don't know why (no offense), so I did something better, as a kid I always loved to smile and laugh and so I used that gift on my channel, I may talked a lot but I put my emotion into it, I even laugh at myself for being stupid or dumb at times.

I only fake my reactions when I try to record a gameplay and realized it wasn't recording, and so a whole gameplay just wasted about me talking to myself infront of the computer.

Obviously, what people actually want is emotional yet somehow natural. And, hey, there are some people who are naturally exuberant and care that much about relatively minor things. In reality, what people want is to be tricked into thinking that they're looking at a bright reality. That's what charisma's all about... being a good liar, usually good enough to even make yourself believe.

The real goal is to make is as crazy entertaining, full of energy, and exciting as possible while keeping the acting good enough to fool most people. The ones smart enough to get it, often appreciate it for the quality of it alone, while the majority either see it as real, or just don't let their conscious mind see it as real aka denial to get more pleasure from it.

Model has worked well for me :D

Why not both (without the monotone)? Play the game and give some commentary, but don't be boring. Then if something surprises you, let yourself go, but don't fake it. Honestly this is mostly for people that tend to scream or are overly expressive if they're surprised. It also helps if you're playing a game for the first ever on film. You'll be really surprised cause you really have no idea what's coming.

So I keep hearing people talking about how they prefer real reactions over fake ones. I can understand if it's a real and funny reaction, but I just don't see why anyone would like to see a completely monotone person just talking with no emotion at all and not even adding the slightest bit of humor. I'd much rather watch an outright fake reaction, even just random screaming here or there would be much better than just someone talking in the same boring voice and not doing anything special. So what does everyone else think? Would you rather watch a video of some monotone person who just states things as they are and doesn't try to be funny in any way, or someone who's outright faking it to liven up a video. (Only the extremes because of course middle ground would be the most entertaining to most people)
I can't vote either way because honestly either one sounds horrible to watch... :giggle::dead2:

I'm asking for the extremes because I hear a lot of people saying "Be yourself" or "I hate fake people" and quite a few of them are just the most boring people I've watched in my entire life, which just seems like terrible advice to me. Personally I'd much rather watch PewDiePie fake screaming at a game for an hour straight than some random kid on the internet playing a game just going "yeah we do this...then this...yeah and this..." and so on. I've just never seen the point in watching people who don't even seem like they're even trying to sound alive, yet I see people complaining all the time that YouTubers are faking it so they're not going to watch them, so I'm wondering what everyone else would choose.
