Promotion or Spamming??

I dig for more than that, if they have a YouTube, it's probably linked to other accounts, maybe even an email on there.

If I had to put an order to it this would be what I try for first:

1. Email or website contact form
2. Social media direct message (Instagram)
3. YouTube DM/comment
Thank u man!! I really appreciate it!!

I guess some people don't appreciate the help. I understand where you're coming from as I do Graphic Design, Website Development & Photography. Tho I don't offer these services on my YouTube channel (advertising it) nor do I post comments on videos asking if people want some work done for free. I do however advertise my website that has my portfolio & personal blog along with other things on it on my videos like in the description, etc now if people go to that on their own free will and then I get leads but other then that I don't do the whole comment on other videos asking if they want help with graphics etc. The way your asking doesn't seem to be in a rude way but I guess people these days take offense to everything.

Actually I'm going to change my own advice.

1. Email or website contact form
2. Social media direct message (Instagram)
3. YouTube Message

Don't ask for anything on YouTube comments. That's not the place. Find another way to communicate with them or move on to the next person. If you comment, add something constructive and valuable. Asking is a serious turn-off in the comment section.

Yeah for sure, making a simple portfolio is really easy even if you have no website experience. Let me know if you need any help with it.

Maybe try to be a bit more personal and get to know what they're aiming for in terms of their brand before offering your services...Once you have an idea of who they are (what they're going for) you can perhaps offer some suggestions and then say something like "I've actually done something like this before" (show them your past work) and if they like it give them your card or contact deets. I think if you're a small designer/artist whatever you've really got to let your work speak for itself, you've got to show that quality...if you're smaller you can be more personal and give your clients exactly want they want/spend more time on it. I think you just need to sell yourself better :D

Your stuff is actually really good.

As for your original post, I just think it comes from people treating their channels as their babies and feeling disrespected when someone slides in their DM's addressing that their channel could use work. I once had a guy ask if he could edit my videos, and when I originally saw the comment I was a bit offended, but I knew he was coming from a just place, it's just that Momma-Bear thing lol.

And as someone who is related to two Graphic Designers who both want me to pay them to do things for my channel you offering it for free is God-sent lol.

DO NOT COMMENT ON THE VIDEOS. It is spam. If you want to do a business deal, do it the business way. Contact via email. If they don't respond, move on. But then your channel is not getting flagged for spam.

It's been said, but just offer your services via email or direct message and wait. It'll take messaging a hundred channels to get one response typically unless you get lucky. For instance, I'm a brand consultant and contact 30 channels a day at least to offer services. Most of these go unread, and I never hear anything back. It just takes perseverance. Good luck!
