Promotion or Spamming??

Hey everyone! I've run into the biggest delimma.. See im a gamer and also an aspiring graphic designer/artist/modifier whatever you want to call it. But it seems that me posting and informing people that i will offer my services free of charge is spamming. I'm informing these folks that they can recieve serviced for free and being shunned and called a spammer. Now i need some insight on the difference between spamming and promoting. I'm not posting something 1 million times back to back. I'll inform someone whose page in absolute need of some attention and get the same response. What is wrong with people now a days. Someone shed light on the subject for me. Guide me down the path of not being a spammer lol.

I just picked up on your comment about informing them that their page is "I'll inform someone whose page in absolute need of some attention" and although you've put it in a way that I'd deem polite, maybe they think their page is top notch and take offence...just a thought.

Other than that though, I can't really comment as I've not seen what you've been posting and where you've been posting it.

I for one however would be quite happy if someone were to offer to help me smarten up my page/channel etc.

Lol well i dont flat out say that. I mean i tell them about what I'm offering and then they get p****d accussing me of attention seeking and spamming and they're right i am. Butit would benefit us both to work together. Them by improving their image and me by getting more experience and honing my skills.

I completely agree with you, to me it's a win win situation. Unfortunately many others just don't see it that way which is a real shame. My advise, just keep chipping away at it, you never know, lightening may strike.

How are you contacting them?

Try to stay away from the whole "free" word. Tell people - I'm an up and coming designer looking to build my portfolio. If there's ever any value I can bring you or your channel I would be more than happy to help.

And then here's the key.... move on.

Contact hundreds of people and channels, not tens. Eventually you'll hear back from someone and go from there, but it really is key to not get attached, to be honest, and to continue to work on your skills.

There are millions of opportunities out there, you'll find some if you're persistent and have a passion for it.

Hey contact them how? Comment on a video or is there a direct message system? I really appreciate the advice

I dig for more than that, if they have a YouTube, it's probably linked to other accounts, maybe even an email on there.

If I had to put an order to it this would be what I try for first:

1. Email or website contact form
2. Social media direct message (Instagram)
3. YouTube DM/comment
