I've Got It
I like thousands to millions of other people, have fallen in love with the YouTube community. Unfortunately, my procrastination problem has got too my YouTube career as well(I'm writing this post, isn't that enough proof?). Anyway, how can I stop this? I love YouTube and have had over 5 channels become dead due to my problem, but this is different(Relationship talk am i right?). Any tips?

hahahah sometimes I do that too, but i keep myself consistent somehow. I think you should better put all other things aside, concentrate on YouTube, don't disappoint viewers by making a channel dead!
whenever I become lazy, I just start over thinking about the ideas of videos I can do, once I get the clear picture, I start the shooting :D
I think just push yourself, you'll overcome this problem :D

I know what you mean, I keep falling foul to the "procrastinator" frequently.
How about you tell us why you decided to make videos? What made you excited to start up a channel?

That's a good idea. I'll start now!

Just having people that will watch you and subscribe because they think your content is good enough to be watched by them! The feeling of going to your dashboard and realizing that 1-3 people subscribed. The feeling of your views going up slowly. lol I tried to make this reply s emotional as possible!

I often procrastinate however, I have a schedule that I rarely break (only when I'm really ill) so I know full well I have to film something or I'll feel awful because its my own fault. Maybe you need a schedule :)

I sometimes deal with procrastinating on stuff, but recently I started using an app to help me with doing everything I need to do within a week. It's a thing called 'todoist' and you basically schedule your tasks and then check them off as you do them. It gives you karma when you do something and takes it away when you are overdue. It's pretty neat! I've been using it for about a week now.

Procrastination is a killer. My advice is write down 5 goals you want to achieve in the next 90 days. Make sure they are measurable goals. "Get stronger and faster" is not measurable, but "Be able to do 30 pushups and able to run a mile in 8 minutes" is measurable. Then write down for each goal 3 reasons why you want to achieve them. Next write down 3-5 actions you will take to achieve them. When you wake up, write a to-do list for the day. Drink some coffee, or snort some blow, whatever it takes, and start getting things crossed off that list. Do this everyday and you'll crush your goals.

Your focus is key. Once you decide to focus on what you want, the rest is easy.

Google "non-zero days" and live by it.

It's just a matter of developing the discipline to keep at it. Also make sure that this is really what you want to do. Other than that, baby steps.

This is what I would do if I were you:

1) Come up with a schedule that's realistic and stick to it

2) Write yourself a letter when you feel motivated about your channel. Pour all your feelings into it, maybe talk about about why you started doing this in the first place, your plans for the channel and what you would like to accomplish. Dream as big as you need, the sky is the limit. Then have it on hand whenever you feel the 'procrastination' monster slowly creeping. It'll put things into perspective and remind you of all the reasons why you're doing this. It's an instant motivator, trust me.

I think most Youtubers go through this as well. When I go through that I force myself to make a video and literally end up making how many after that lol. I would say to constantly make videos to keep yourself in the mode.
