posting on Facebook VS embedding YT on Facebook

Since yesterday I've got:

I only used one hashtag in the description (#RocketLeague)

how does the publicity change if you upload it directly to Facebook? You can still assign hashtags to a YouTube embed. I don't think it matters.
Like others have said - when You upload it to Youtube You can give it a custom thumbnail, so it's more enticing to click than a regular "cut-off" one that FB gives when You just paste a Youtube link. Also don't forget about autoplay - some people won't keep watching but if You have something interesting at the beginning of Your video, they might!

You don't get Youtube views that way I know, but You can add a link to Your channel and trailer text, which will be shown at the end of the video.

When You are an established Youtuber and have lots of people on Your FB fanpage then probably the best thing would be to upload just a teaser video to FB, linking to the full video on Youtube. But when You are a small channel like me then You'll take every opportunity to increase exposure, so I just uploaded a full video there.

You can use the YouTube App on Facebook which shows your full thumbnail as a link to the app on your Facebook page. I have been using that lately, but don't get much traffic on my Facebook anyway.

Well the problem is that YouTube has networks for music covers and Facebook Doesn't
Well that's only one problem Facebook is facing. The main problem that I see is that they do not yet have anything that resembles a reasonable search function for videos shared by Facebook pages. I can't find any public video using facebook's search bar. Have you had any luck with that? I don't understand it. So that's problem #1 in my opinion. Youtube is actually a functional search engine and a very intuitive one at that. Their search function has all sorts of useful filters and therefore Youtube search accounts for a large portion of their traffic. Facebook needs to address this if they want to play in the big leagues with youtube.

The music licenses? Yes, a huge issue, but this is just a matter of money. The agents and RIAA won't care...they want to have the music in as many places as possible, exposed to as many revenue streams as possible. I think that is just a matter of time. Either that or Facebook will not even bother and just concentrate on the other segments of Youtube. My guess is that covers make up a relatively small percentage of the overall revenue on Youtube. Youtube only started allowing the sharing of revenue of covers by music partners recently. Prior to that you the covers would be claimed and all the revenue went to the original artist. It was like that for years.

Like I stated in another thread...as Youtube creators we should embrace the fact that Facebook is trying to compete with Youtube. Competition is good. Of course Facebook's numbers are inflated...that's not an accident. They want to push the narrative that Facebook is gaining a ton of ground in the video category. They are, in fact, gaining but not as much as they would lead people to believe. I think they are just planting seeds now so that people begin to associate FB with videos a little more...then when they roll out a large scale video platform people won't be so hesitant to use it. Google should have done similar planning with regard to Google plus. Instead they shoved it down our throats while we gagged.

You can't share in revenue with every song though. You can share in revenue with more songs using We Are The Hits

I have learned that people see my video on thier time line when I add picture to Facebook from the video and put the link to the video below that. A ton more views from just that

I try to keep my Youtube channels completely separate from my friends and family because I feel that it skews my perception of how well I'm doing. I know that sounds stupid but it would make me feel better to grow completely naturally without any help. Of course, on some channels that growth is painfully slow at first.
