Posting comments on youtube is bad!!!

Yea don't comment with things like "check me out!" comments are there to interact, be social in the comments and make yourself stand out, thats how you win in the comments

At first I posted something witty referencing the video. Now, I automatically get top comment no matter how dumb my comment is which is pretty weird. It's mainly due to google plus integration.
However, I seen some channels get a motherload of subscribers from posting "Check me out!" I went on one of Shane Dawson's videos and the top five comments were youtubers posting that crap. It upsets me. \:

Sometimes it does seem to work, though it could also be that person's viewer base are acceptive to that or liked the channels enough to accept the comments...its a strange world

Very good advice :) I did the same thing and also saw a low increase of subs but I think I should get more into it to see a bigger increase :P

Well, for how long do you comment for promotion?

It's not as much a question of "how long" as it is "how much". I found that because of google plus, there are many factors that will help push your comments to the top. Such factors as how popular you are on google plus, sub count, etc. You should notice of big youtuber channels the top comments consist of people with high sub counts. This is because there's an option to select high sub count youtubers to be top comment. If you only have a few subs (such as yourself) you'll blend in with all the other low sub channels. This is when "how much" you comment factors in. Find a channel that posts a lot (either daily or every other day) and comment on every video they post. You should become notorious on that specific channel and have people recognize you. Eventually people will notice you and you'll stand out from the crowd.

In comparison, you could always just earn more subs until you get to at least 100 to make you stand out in the eyes of google plus. I would suggest this.

Thx dude! You should make a tutorial or something on your channel if you have that much expierience^^

true -- i tried that -- but i dont know what to say
You have to say something funny or something other people can relate to and then involve your channel in you comment, without beeing spammy.. Yeah, it's a bit tricky, you have to get used to it first^^
