Picking up my new camera

Hi! I'm posting this here because there's been camera talk here...at least I think it is...I've not slept much...and sleep is good. I couldn't put the image in but it's the one below. I know others have more complicated cameras but a photographer friend said it would be a good starter camera and good for what I need it to do. I got it on a boxing day sale for $600 canadian which is better than the $940 regular price :) Imma be legit HD youtubin now...
Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18MP Digital SLR with EF-S 18-55mm & EF 75-300mm Lens Kit and DSLR Bag
I live in Canada too and my friend got the exact same deal! I am not sure about how much he paid (I know he got a big discount), but he got the same lens and camera at Best Buy. Good choice!

That's great that you got a new camera! I'm just going to move this to the Video Editing, Recording, Software and Hardware section of the forum :)

Congrats! Can't go wrong with a canon!
Thanks! That's what I was told...but apparently I've entered into the Canon vs Nikon debate lol[DOUBLEPOST=1389115832,1389115814][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thank you! I suspected I was posting this in the wrong place :)

Just an update in case anyone does a search and comes accross this post. I filmed my first video (in my signature below) and I really notice a difference. I bought a mic and I think the sound is cleaner too. I'm so glad I invested!
