Pewdiepie didn't pick my channel for the shoutout :(

Also, yep. I'd do it because if I had people like that on my channel, it would be destroyed because they'd be disliking everything and spamming sub4sub, etc.

Yeah I agree!

However on the other side if I had a gaming channel then it would be a different story because pewdiepie's audience would be more my target audience but not completely you know what I mean TalkFandomToMe. :)

I personally have a target audience of generally anyone 10-18 I guess but there's always exceptions for people who like my content younger or older than my target.

And yeah, I know what you mean. I would be okay with the prepubescent kids if they could... y'know, not have the urge to hate on everything people make. xD

Ummm.... Why are you going to pay(more like wasting money sorry) to some mega/big channels just to not get shoutouts from them?? I thought I ask this because I don't really get why anyone would even do that in the first place unless you have lots and lots of money to spare.....

The chances are 9 times out of 10 that you are NOT going to get a shoutout from a big YouTube channel just a thought. :)

It's simple - as parents we always try to stay under the radar of particular type of YT viewers. For this we have a special list of forbidden things which should never appear on our videos (just yesterday a I cut off from a single movie 6 or 7 such moments each one of them sufficient to make the video if not viral at least semi-viral) . The problem is that some of the "kids" mega channels use exactly this video patterns to generate high audience retention spikes. From this follows that by now they have heavily enriched their audience with this particular type of viewers.

That's why I am ready to pay if not to the people who stay behind such channels at least to YT if they create a tool which will allow to ban channels to send traffic to your channel (through recomended videos for example).

I was bummed but I kept my expectations low lol so :P. I'll also probably feel the same way when I fail to get into the YouTube Next Up program next month :/. I don't get why bigger YouTubers don't do Shoutouts all the time though, it seems rather selfish and ridiculous you wouldn't try to give back to your fans like that. I do a weekly Shoutout Wednesday series and it doesn't take a ridiculous amount of effort but it helps give back to the people who got you where you are. The only people who ever do Shoutout series it seems are are YouTubers with like around 10,000 subscribers or lower. Sort of lame :P

I haven't watched Pewdiepie in the longest time, I mean I didn't even know he made shoutouts but I still feel like I should have gotten one... just saying.

A youtuber (gaming channel) with almost 100k subscribers sent me an email several days ago, asking if I could create some artwork for him. He caught me at a really good time because I was in between projects for my channel. Anyway, he offered to give my channel a big shout out and when he saw the artwork it definitely sealed the deal. I'm at 130 subs, so the possibility of getting a shout out from Pewdiepie wouldn't happen until I have 500+ subs.
