people fighting with each other in the comments

I always try to calm things down, and if that doesn't work, I delete the whole comment thread where the fight is. It's my channel...I want everyone to get along. Some other YouTubers don't mind that kind of discussion, so I guess it's totally a personal choice.
 
If it's on your channel even though It looks bad, the more people are commenting the more views your video is ganna get. Since people see that there are more comments on a video it can also draw them in cause they see the video is interesting enough for people to comment on. Obviously if someone is being rude or just an ******* on the comments just mark them as spam or blacklist them if it comes to that. As long as people are sharing their opinions even if they are aggressive (comment section is always toxic) then leave it, it's good for your video. A lot of YouTubers spoke out about their comment section, some have disabled them because they can't deal with it but the general rule is to leave it alone unless it's some sort of discussion video that you can partake in. The people who get really annoyed because of a conflicting opinion are the people that shouldn't be allowed to comment, it's just stupid since there is always someone who will not agree with you and that's fine cause it's life.

I would leave it as long as they stay civil, meaning no cursing or racist, silly vocabulary. As Shehzad mentions, you will get more views from engaging viewers. A discussion on your channel is kind of passionate engagement.
 
If the comments are offensive, I will delete them straight away. But if its an argument about the video, it should be fine :)

I usually let them go or I'll join in. I rarely delete comments unless they are saying something bad about somebody else that's in the video that can't defend themselves.
 
I agree with Shehzad - let them go, as long as they don't get too abusive.

I never get involved, same as I never respond to provocation.

It's a no win situation for you, so stay well away.

Nothing wrong with a bit of heated discussion. Makes life interesting.
