Page views almost doubled but earnings going down

Update for 1st October figures:

I've just had the earnings figures for 1st October and they were pretty good to be honest. I was expecting a big drop for the start of the quarter but that didn't happen and I seem to be carrying on the way September ended (ie pretty well.)

How about you?

The only good thing about 1st of October was the first click - 2$. After that it stagnated and for now it looks like 40-45% decrease in comparison with last year.

An interesting thing - our Adsense page views are significantly more in comparison with YouTube analytics page views:16 000 (Adsense) vs 11 000 (All channels YouTube analytics). I suspect some very low quality traffic source (embedded videos, aps) generating the discrepancy - even though is should be rather the opposite - more views on YT analytics and less on Adsense.

I've just realised I miscalculated my drop in RPM in my previous post (I said I was experiencing a 30% drop but I was incorrectly comparing Jan-September from 2015 to the whole of 2014) - In fact, when I compare like for like Jan-September 2015 v Jan-September 2014, the drop is actually 21% - Not as bad as I originally thought.

For me since the 14th September, it has had a big boost but I'm guessing there'll be another dip when October starts. Personally, I'm trying to fill my boots until the end of the year and put some under the mattress before January strikes lol. :)
When I compare jan-sept 2014 to jan-sept 2015 it's not nearly as bad as comparing july-sept last year to this year. How is your july-sept last year to this year?

When I compare july-sept 2014 (inclusive) to july-sept 2015, then I see a drop of about 26% (RPM) July and August is off-peak for my niche (not just for $, but for views also)

The big difference I saw in 2015 was that the first quarter drop was much lower than usual and that it lasted longer than usual.

I've seen this difference as well. The difference can be up to 20% more views according AdSense. But not even 1% of my views come from embedded videos. Is there another explanation for this?

And like mentioned before: I also noticed that the estimated earnings in AdSense are 15% higher than the actual earnings and that the .85 factor is a good way to see the actual earnings in AdSense. Does anybody know where this difference comes from?

one word for this year earnings = disaster

October earnings, yeah it looked pretty sweet on the first 2 days, but just now it updated to October 3rd, wahahahahah, the earnings dropped to as low as previously....fake hope for me...

Yup. I thought we'll reach at least 2013 earning levels in October but it looks like we are moving more toward 2012.
