Opinions On Video Length??

I do let's plays abit so under half hour mark it where I aim.
But when there little bits of games like GTA funny moments or Fifa UT matches I try and aim for the 10-15 minute mark

At the end of the day it`s your choice what length you videos are. With reviews it tends to vary I would not do anything over 30 mins. People don`t that much attention rate. I tend to do mine within in 10 mins to 25 at max if I have a lot to talk about a certain areas of a game. With gaming it all depends on what content you make on it, but anything between 10mins to 25 mins should be fine :)

I believe it's based around the type of content you produce, here are a few examples for gaming.
  • Game Review: 5-10 Minutes
  • Montages (NOT Funny Moments: 3-5 minutes, the lack of commentary, unless really well edited will cause most people to leave bef0re the videos finished as it'll get boring.
  • Funny Moments: 5-10 Minutes, any longer and it could just become boring, I found this out from experience!
  • Lets Plays: I believe the ideal time would be 10-15minutes, cut out all of the boring parts/getting there parts (use them in a different video ie. funny parts, funny moments) and just stick to the gameplay, cutscenes and any important event in the game.
These are my recommendations!!

I make a point to make my videos in the 6-8 minute range. I went crazy in the beginning and was doing like 15 minute videos until I decided it'd be better if my content was shorter form.

There's nothing wrong with a 15 - 20min video. It's just something I feel would need a large following. People would have to be a fan to watch a 20 min video.

We do daily vlogs and I do my best to keep them between 5-10 minutes! Until you get a large following and fans, long videos are going to intimidate people! When we have more than two days in one video (we do weekend vlogs) we keep them between 8-12 minutes!

I think to initially gain more views your videos should be 2-4 minutes in length. New viewers are judging you to see if they like you at first, and viewers do see the time of a video. If they don't know who you are and see your video is longer than 10 minutes, they are less likely to click on your video. However, if you have an audience you could try to slowly increase the time on your videos. Every video you make you could increase by about 30 seconds. Your videos will soon be the length you want them, and your audience would not of felt the change so drastically and with more views on your video, newer viewers will be more likely to check out what your about.

I recently watched a video by the game theorists discussing why pewdiepie is able to grow so much. Youtube looks at watch time and retention rate. Gamers can post daily and people tend to watch multiple of their videos in a row and their videos can be longer.

As for video length I'd say as long as it's entertaining it doesn't matter that much.

I think that, especially when your channel still isn't that big, you should try to keep your videos even under 5 minutes! Try to just play 15 minutes, cut the best parts out of it and then maybe even speed it up about 1.10x. (so that no one notices that much). Only loyal fans would watch a 10-15 minute video so try to avoid that for as long as you don't have any of those fans ;)
My opinion (I can't hold on to it myself^^)

Id say keep things as short as possible without taking away from your content.

I find I will stop watching longer videos even if there have good content because I lose interest after 7-10 mins. Or sometimes ill see a video is 20 mins long and I wont click into it at all, even though it sounds/looks good. Im sure this is different for everyone but this is just what I do :)

Also if its like a lets play or a game walkthrough then I can understand longer videos and I would probably watch them :D
