One of my videos hit over 1,000 views but

Hi there, how exactly do you check the view time?
Video Manager > Analytics > And your average view duration should be right there.

For a specific video it's:
Video Manager > Analytics > Choose the video you want to check > And the average view duration should be there

If you want a list of many videos it's:
Video Manager > Analytics > Watch Time > At the bottom of the page there will be a list with some of your videos stating the average watch time.

Update, so apparently this website stole my bank account number, and took a random video and promoted it for $40.

It was a website called promotetube.com

I used this site to buy some views a few months ago and realized how stupid it was to do so, so I decided to never pay for views again.

I guess they kept my bank account number and promoted one of my YouTube videos for $40 without my permission to do so.

Stay away from the site, and never think about buying views, they can scam you and take your bank information.

I know what you mean!Amy first video I put up 6 months ago is just shy of 13.5k views with only 106 likes and accrued a 54 subscribers rate. (Thats all I have:( )
Granted it was myvery first video ever made on the YouTube world and I admit it was quite scrappy now that I go back and look at it. I'm contemplating on redoing it to mix in with my current quality videos .But I don't want to lose those views and such :(

You guys are saying that it could be embedded somewhere? Is there a way I can check where it's embedded?

It could be viewbots, but would someone pay just to get my videos views? I guess it's possible. The spike actually happened yesterday, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see where these views are coming from. I also can't check the watchtime until tomorrow either.

Sorry to hear what that company did to you, but to answer your question for future reference. You can see if your video is catching views through an external website (whether embedded or just shared) by checking your traffic sources in the analytics.

EDIT: Misread the question lolol. ;]

Just to clarify, the website didn't "STEAL" your bank account number, they just happened to store the info in their system when you first used it to buy the views and charged the card without your permission so if you do a chargeback with your company, tell them they charged you without permission not that they stole your bank account number.

You knew what I meant.

Not the point of what you meant - just making sure you understood what actually happened and no, i can't read minds.
Ok, but I think you can word it better, of course I know what I meant. In the heat of the moment, I was angry and couldn't think straight, I just typed whatever I could. I just wanted to get the message out there. And yes, in the context of the message, you would know.
