Not sure if I can do it

As much as I respect everyone in this thread I have to disagree with your “master plan” theory. I know business and I know how it works google makes 98% of the income from advertising and with millions of hours of video that is user created being uploaded to youtube with their ads all over it making money why would they get rid of it? Youtubes whole business model is based around users and users creating and sharing their media. I don’t think in anyway that their idea is to get rid of the everyday user since that is where they make all their money.

What I think is happening is google is trying to make a uniform experience between all of their platforms, Google+, Gmail, Youtube, etc. All you are seeing here is google trying to make all of their services look the same and work seamlessly together.

Just my 2 pennys.

Well I'm not sold on the theory myself. I just think, "what business who has a good thing going keeps doing things their customers hate, then ask for feedback, get tons of it, and then do exactly what they were asked not to do.." It makes no sense, and in that video I made about, quite a few people confidently proposed an answer as if they knew something I didn't. I make no claims to not being gullible, Im HIGHLY gullible, that could be the problem. Whether it's percieved or real, I'm still gonna think outside the box, and win on youtube.

Well, if you're highly gullible.. Can I interest you in a bridge I just bought in Portland? It'll increase your sub count.. I swear. ;)

I can see where you are coming from but think about it like this.

Google is huge they are kings of website optimization and engagement etc.

You say they are getting a ton a feedback how do you know this? Sure on the internet you see all the bad stuff because people hate change and they post about it. When people like things they don’t post about it when people don’t like things they do post. So what you are seeing is all the people that hate it.

I am not saying I like the new layout as a matter of fact I hate the new layout, what I am trying to say is set your emotions aside and look at it from a business point of view.

1) google is trying to make a universal feel between all their sites
2) In business if you are not changing you are falling behind. Whoever said “if its not broke don’t fix it” is a moron and is probably out of business. You need to be always changing and evolving to stay ahead.
3) Who knows maybe they got a lot of data regarding the old layout and they are trying to optimize and fix it with this new one.
4) don’t be so quick to judge the layout has only been out a week maybe they will roll out some changes based on feedback.

Heya, fellas. I've been thinking a lot.
I don't think I can/want to make any more YouTube videos.
Why? Because of the new layout. I just can't use YouTube anymore. It's confusing, annoying and ugly.

It's too bad that they just have to change the layout just because they can. It's so annoying and I'm not sure if I can anymore. YouTube doesnt give a rat's a** about the users's opinions. They just change everything all the time. Uglier and uglier and more confusing every time.

I liked YouTube just the way it was when the describtion was by the right next to the video!

It's a shame...
Cmon we make videos because we like them! You should definitely continue making them :)

I'm not talking about the forums. What's your problem?

leave youtube if you don't like it!

Youtube is a PRIVILEGE not a right. You don't like it then go to a different video sharing site! Or create your own!
Less drama and more action!

Uh, yes? I am leaving YouTube if I don't like it. I never said anything different than that. And you need to calm yo' tits. If you don't want drama, don't start it.
