Nintendo Copyright Claims Discussion Chat

Nintendo is hosting a stream online today. I'll take 2 cents to predict that they will talk about something related to sharing gaming experience on YouTube.

Of course you interact with it, but the fact is it's just the game. There's no adjusting of the original material there. It's not the same as having commentary and actually having personal interaction with the content.
??? If I move a character around the screen then I am adjusting the original material in a way this is different to any other person and I am having a personal interaction with the content. This doesn't happen with a movie.

Let's hope that, while copyright laws of this content is still in its infancy, that we do not see the end of many great things due to controversies.

The point is, you aren't adding anything that wasn't there before. It's their content. Sure, you make the character do one thing or another, but those are all things made by Nintendo. When you add commentary, it's not just an extra voice, but you can make it funny and random, scripted comedy, serious, nostalgic, a review/fun facts session, anything. The fact is, you use the pre-existing materials to inspire a reaction in people that they could not have gotten alone, from just playing the game. For example, when TheRunawayGuys play Mario Party together, people watch it because they love the chemistry those guys have, not really for the game itself.
